This Shiras was shot late last November, and he is the same one that was photographed live the day before and posted on the site. His bone measured 55" and 400+ inches SCI. The hanger is a large skull hooker, enjoy his killer tines! Duane

That bull is just bad ass!! Im glad I stopped by to see it in person!! My all time favorite Shiras!!
-
Beautiful work, FS. How much does that thing weigh? :yike:
-
Dont know the actual weight, but its about all that I want to lift. I will put him on the scale later and let you know.
-
Just curious--a rough weight would be good enough. Ie, pick it up and stand on a scale, then subtract your weight? :dunno:
-
My bet is 40 pounds maybee a little less. Bout what it felt like to me?? Let us know!
-
That thing is beautiful, definitely worth the once in a lifetime kill. I'm curious about the age. The points seem long and with that and the smaller palm, is this a young bull? No way am I putting it down, no question I would never pass him up. Just curious if this guy a couple years from now would be an absolute monster, or is this the pinnacle of shiras in our state?
-
My dream Bull!!
-
good guess Charlie, 35 lbs, you do know your own strength :chuckle:
-
I wonder the same thing Trophyhunt, just looking at the teeth I would thing he was a middle aged bull. Be nice to know what they come up with through the Bios. I beleive they have to send the 2 front teeth in off the jaw for aging. Probably have to call to find out.
Dang it that was actually my gut guess but put down 40 :chuckle:
-
Got to go with the GUT! :chuckle:
-
Awesome bull!
-
Wow, that is huge! Great job on the mount FS. If only I was lucky enough to drawa tag one of these years. John
-
awesome mount & awesome bull! Ithought the same thing trophyhunt mentioned & like him not trying to discredit the lucky person who got him but was wondering the age of the bull due to characteristics of his rack. if the bios find out let us know, beautiful work
-
Cool bull. This represents what I dont like about the moose scoring system. I like long tines and think they add a lot to the trophy but they are not given credit in the score.

Tine length does count on the SCI score. After seeing this mount, I ordered a large Skull Hooker for my moose. Nice work!

Nice Bull!

that looks great and that's a nice bull

Nice Bull. Great euro mount

Hyde, the skull hooker worked out great for him, you will need to cut into his skull in the back to make sure the hooker goes deep enough to hold you skull.
Thanks guys for the compliments and He scored about 160 B.C.
If it were my choice I would take the tines over big paddles also. Duane
-
Thats an awesome looking rack, and mount.
Just curious, why the SCI measurement. No category for Boone and Crocket? Dont know much of anything about that sort of tuff.
-
Buckly took the words out of my mouth ... Bada$$ is an under statement !!
-
Awesome bull! Did he make B&C book?
-
He easily makes B&C.
-
WOW what a bull.
-
Nice work.Glad to see someone do a euro on a 55'' inch bull instead of mounting it looks real good
-
Great bull and you did a really good job on it.
-
He scored about 160 B&C and 401 SCI. I believe the SCI was a better representation of the qualities that this bull represents :twocents: Duane
-
Love it!!!!!!
Can you share what unit he was taken?
-
Thats a beast! is that close to the state record? its gotta be up there somewhere close!
-
That bull turned out great. I like the mount set up as well.
-
very cool. nice work
-
Great job best moose Euro I've ever seen!
-
Thanks for the compliments guys, and he did score in the top ten for SCI in Washington. Duane

manfromspam,
thanks for the compliment, the cost will probably range from low of $200 to high of $400 depending on the taxi and the quality your looking for. If it were me I would always go and see someones work in person before I gave them a trophy like that.
As to a taxi in Spokane area, don't know anyone off hand that I could recommend, maybe a taxi on this site that operates in your area will see this thread ?
Also, the skull hooker used on this bull costs about $90 bucks. Duane

Thanks for the info duane
-
nice moose
-
That turned out primo! I love the long tines, very impressive...
-
Great Bull, all the hunter has to do is go to WDFWs site and look up the tooth data for the age.
-
:yike: Wow that thing is gnarly looking. I can only hope to shoot one like that when I get my tag someday!
-
i love how pissed off that skull looks. really cool
-
Very, very nice job  Something to be proud of for sure!
-
Lord in Heaven, what a beautiful bull!

That is a beautiful moose in my book regardless of score. I remember your post when he was still alive. The tines add a ton of character.
-
That is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
