Post by: BOWHUNTER45 on July 16, 2011, 03:12:38 PM: 3 yr old ... nice one ..2 ways to help out wth age is # 1 is look at his back , see how it is kinda rounded facing up .. a older buck will be sagging down and another way is the brisket ... younger deer will not have much brisket showing as to an older deer his brisket will be sticking out a little further ... :twocents:

Post by: YoterHunter on July 16, 2011, 06:12:33 PM: 2-3 years old . his face is not grey .the older they get the greyer they get.that one thing that helps me kill blacktail .in a green area i look for white faces.

Post by: Hunter Dug on July 16, 2011, 07:37:39 PM: Head is short with roman nose, regresses antler growth, and a pot belly as far as I can tell from pick. I say old. There are other signs of old deer other than a swaled back. I would guess 4 or 5 maybe older.

The grey face will show better with his winter coat.... I would say about three or four years old. but really is a crap shoot with this pic. If he is three or four he is too young to be regressing so my bet is that he suffered an injury to his left side which screwed up his right side....

They all show more grey or white in the fall but summer time not!
