went out this weekend to check on my stand and shooting lanes that I trimmed last weekend, I did not bring any feed with me because i figured with the cutting and the additional stand being placed the deer would have been spooked away for a few days and be very cautious of the area so they probably would not of ate everything. WRONG, it was licked clean. So today i went back out to drop the dry cob(they seem to be eating it best right now) I also brought along some stakes that I spray painted to match the pins on my wife's bow to make ranging easy for her since its her first year of hunting deer and with a bow to boot. I dropped the feed and stakes, power down the cam and climb up in the stand and start lazing targets to get ranges to drop the stakes at. i hear movement off to my right and freeze. Thinking to myself great just great i am going to get busted in the stand before season starts, wearing a white t shirt, and some dirty jeans. a light brown shape is moving through the brush for about 15 minutes, its on the small side a fawn? maybe yearling tops. After about 15 minutes here comes Quincy my father in-laws dog bouncing past the stand. He got out of his pen and went back into the woods to see what i was up to. Damn dog and me frozen in the stand for a good 20 minutes.

Maybe just shoot the dog. Your taming the deer to be no more wild than he is.
Legal? yep
ethical? for you I assume
soon to be outlawed? probably.
Good luck.
