Hey folks,
I haven't posted in a while, but would like to take a poll of sorts. I'm developing a shooting product that will be an add-on aftermarket item. It will be gun specific so an idea of the more popular makes in use would be a great benefit for my business.
My question is this, which make or model is your go to gun for waterfowling and maybe what your partners use.
Your responses would be of great benefit and much appreciated.
Thank you in advance. Apologies for not offering anything more on what the product is, once patents are taken care of then more info will come out. This idea is very exciting for hunting and I'm looking forward to letting the cat out of the bag.

I currently shoot a Benelli Nova, but will be buying a Browning Maxus in the next few weeks :chuckle:
My dad shoots an 870 express, as does my brother. My father in law shoots a Browning Gold Hunter and occasionally a Browning O/U that I don't know much about.
Hope that helps!
-
not that I get out alot with the shotgun but it would be an 870 and who doesn't have an 870 :)
-
870, same with just about everyone I know.

:yeah:
-
tristar or my browning cynergy
-
My .12 gauges. As of late I have been hitting the trap range pretty frequently. Mainly Benelli SBEII and Beretta Extrema 2.
-
I have used a benelli nova for years (love it). My father hunts with an 870. My two hunting buddies both shoot Extrema2's
-
Ithaca 12 guage, pulls up faster than anything ive ever shot
-
benelli nova
-
A bought a Maxus before last season and it has pretty much replaced all my other hunting shotguns for everything from quail to geese. I do shoot my Citori more but I mostly shoot clays with it.
-
SX3, super nova, SBE, 870 and Ithica 12ga
-
Thanks for the replies so far everyone. So far Remington leads the race. Wonder if Benelli will turn in a rebound.
-
Browning Maxus and I love it!
-
Benelli Nova!
-
Remington 11-87
-
SBE II, Remington 1100
-
I have Winchester's, Berettas, Brownings, and Remingtons; the one I use the most is a Baikal MP-153 for ducks a geese. If I'm only after big geese I shoot my Remington SP10. And note I do not own a Benelli dumped everyone I've wone because they smack the crap out of me.

660 Mossberg 12 guage, had this gun for twenty years now. Never had it jam once in all that time, been dropped, kicked, fell in the water (salt too) and it keeps on ticking.
Last year went out and bought a 870 express mag waterfowl edition. Great gun, but the 3 1/'2'S for some reason are breaking my middle finger on my trigger hand. I mean it literally kills me to shoot it more than a few times. So it may be for sale on here soon. I have only shot it about 20 times.. beautiful gun.
-
Mainly my Browning bps.
-
Xtrema 2. Amazing gun. Also take out the good old 870 anyday.
-
Rem 870, BPS, Nova
-
Out of my main hunting party, Browning Bps, two 870s, SBEII, a couple mossy 835s and a 935, and 500
-
You'd do well to include 870 add-ons, obviously. My whole family shoots 870's save for my cousin who shoots a winchester sx3 (what a sweetheart of an autoloader...).
What type of product are you developing?
-
left hand benelli m2

Thanks again to everyone for the responses. This is really helpful, a little bit of a difference from the same question posted on the duck boat forum, but this is what I need, to see exactly what everyone out there is using. As to what this product is I can say that for certain types of shooting it will deffinately help with your percentages. First and foremost however it is designed for the waterfowler. Wish I could say more as it is killing me at times to not open up, start bragging and showing off what I have. But it will happen in due time. :sry:
I will be doing lots of in field testing this fall, of course. Hope to be able to get a lot of it on film. Another goal is to take my first Harli on film with this new product. To me it would be super. Saw my first harli in 1979 in Yellowsone park and plan on taking one finally this year.
anymore input would be appreciated.

Benelli Nova. Good luck with your product testing/patents.
-
beretta extrema all the way
-
A 60 year old Stevens Model B Fox side by side. :chuckle:
-
Beretta 392, 12 ga.
-
11-87. Like every other hunter also have an 870. Will hopefully buy a SBEII or Vinci soon though.
-
Nova
-
I shoot a 20 gauge Rem 870.
I like the 20 gauge because it forces me to only take "feet down" shots which I prefer.
When they are at that range I kill them just the same as a 3.5" 12 gauge.
I often use a skeet choke too
-
Benelli Super Black Eagle.
-
i shoot a remington 11-87
-
I shoot a Remington 11-87 Supermag and have an 870
-
Maxus x2, BPS, Winchester X3, SBEII. For our hunting group. And any luck on the product yet? How's testing going?
-
Beretta AL391
-
11-87 and 870's .....the 870 is the worlds best selling shotgun...everyone has one and they shoot great
-
Browning auto
-
I use a Beretta 686 Onyx, O/U 12 Ga with 3 1/2" chambering and 28" tubes. I like a short, fast handeling gun even if I'm giving up one round and have to endure more recoil than a lot of other guns (seldom use 3 1/2" ers.). All my shotguns are either SxS or O/U, I guess I am just a traditionalist.
-
870 express
-
Xtrema and 870.
-
Browning Gold Hunter, thanks to my son for making buy it!
-
870 Sportsman. Yeah baby! :IBCOOL:
-
I got a bunch of them but I grab the Beretta O/U in 20 for upland and the Xterema 2 for ducks.
-
870 Super Mag!!
-
870
-
:yeah:
-
Winchester SX3 in MODB. This will be the 2nd season out. Kinda miss my nova some days though..
-
Benelli SBE with an 870 back-up.
-
Picked up a new Winchester SX3 on Saturday. I will have to see how I like it. Killed a few barn pigeons with it yesterday. 5 for 5 so far.
-
Rem. 11-87
-
Escort Magnum, 12 gau
-
Benelli M2 or Benelli Nova pump
-
Remington 1100 for me
-
In my group there are 3 SBE II's, an SX3 and an 1100.
-
winchester 1300.... I really like this shotgun for Ducks & Turkey .... serious pattern when using winchester shells  :yeah:
-
I use my "gun" several times a day and it hasn't let me down yet. ("this is my rifle, this is my gun. one is for..." You get the idea). My Favorite rifle is my Model 700 classic Rem .30-06, and my favorite pistol is my XD .45.

Piano I don't get your point :chuckle: Why don't you explain what you use your gun for several times a day? (and I am not talking about pissing) Come on we want details :chuckle:

11-87 Special Purpose. Had it since they introduced them and if it's ever malfunctioned I can't recall it. Stone reliable.

Benelli Super Black Eagle. Never ever malfunctions, patterns well, flawless as far as I'm concerned. If it somehow got lost (fell out of boat or something) I'd have another one same day. Can't not have one anymore. My 870 Wingmaster Magnum WAS my go to, and similarly flawless. The Benelli is the same reliability, but loads itself. Better for layout blinds, and factory camouflaged. LOVE my Benelli!

:yeah: My buddy has a super black eagle and I get to use it because for some reason, it pounds the crap out of his index finger on the right hand. He uses his Super Nova pump. Nice to have friends!

Mossberg Model 500 12 gauge. Cost me 189 bucks, and works like a champ.
-
mossberg 500, also have and use an 870..

Thank you very much. The top one is an 1896 Lefever GE grade damascus 12bore. I use it mostly for pheasants and ducks, sometimes chukars. It has 30" barrels, but only weighs 6lbs 6oz. The bottom one is an 1880's vintage 16ga Husqvarna (same company that still makes chainsaws today) model 44 back action hammer gun with 31" damascus barrels. It's my regular upland gun and is very rare. It's the only 16ga mod. 44 I know of anywhere.

Benelli super vinci!

40 yrs (2) 870's.... Since last Jan. Super Nova
