SO EXCITED! i haven't bow hunted in 2 years for deer! I decided to try rifle hunting again after years of bow hunting :bdid: I had forgotten about how frustrating rifle season is.... i cured myself of the bug.. I've been shooting all year but more recently I've started a regimen of shooting, running 2 miles and shooting immediately after... helps me because it always seems like you're going up a 15% grade, finally crest the hill, are huffing and puffing, and have to make the shot. Only problem is that I'm limited to 30 yard target practice at my house... i'm shooting 2-3" groups @30yards What have you guys been doing to prepare?????

I've been letting my cameras do all the work. :chuckle:

Get out and scout once n awhile but mainly go over maps, sit on my azz drinkin beer, and shoot my bow. But work keeps me from doin more cuz when i get off at 730am im too tired to do anything productive and i sleep durring the day time or try too.

Im shooting a couple times a day out to 50, and watching deer every night. I will go in and start hanging stands within days. I am already seeing some variance in routines of the shooter bucks, even see them rubbing on the buck brush a bit....hoping they hang on to their velvet for another 10 days, but doesnt look likely. I figure, I get the first two evenings to sit where I plan, if they dont show, game over, shift to get ready for elk, maybe hunt over water holes until elk.

For some reason I am not getting as excited as usual. Might be the spike bull only that has me depressed. I am shooting & getting equipment out & ready little by little. Drove up to my deer area up on Snoqualmie pass and was surprised to hit snow @ 5000 ft and couldn't go up the road any more. Next bull tag I draw will probably get me divorced ! Hope everyone has a great season, I will be ready enough for a spike bull. Mike
