Did you get one today Bowman? I got one myself tonight. I think we broke the ice now.
Yeah, I shot the bear this evening! Hopefully we broke the ice

Hiked down an old logging road and found this sow feeding on grass. My shoes were squeeking so I took them off and snuck around the corner after her. I shot the bear at about 75 yards. The best part was my dad was with to see me shoot my first. I hunted hard last summer but never connected.

Now it's time to do my homework.... I have class at 7:30 in the morning

Post by: bowman on August 03, 2011, 11:53:40 AM: Thanks everyone. I shoot a Browning A bolt in 30 06 with 165 grain TSX bullets. The bear was almost directly facing me and I shot it at 85 yards. I hit in front of the front right shoulder and the bullet exited in front of the opposite rear leg.

Around 8:00 pm. I thought I was gonna have the first bear kill posted up, but you stole my glory :chuckle:
