hey I hope someone can help me. I drew a cowtag for blackpowder in the umtanum. I have property in naches wa but i have never been to the umtanum. I tried following a map last weekend i got from the good old ranger station, ended up lost and in need of a beer. Some old timer told me that if i go up bald mountain road it will take me right to the umtanum. I started to climb that road but dont really know how far to go up, is there signs for certain roads, etc. I would love some advice, hell even some criticism
thank you

1 post or 1000 don't care.
Go up bald mtn I believe the ridge top is the upper border. Gasman is right. Then try to find any north facing slope with the thickest timber you can find 30-50 yards max. visibility. Scout it and if there are elk trails in it you are in the right place. Think small. If it is hot to you it is hot to elk they wont be there. Also if there are lots of old rubs you know you are in a rut spot. Sneak in there an hour before sun up and sit still till dark. repeat daily and you will kill your cow.
Put in your time.....
Let us know how it goes
