MANSON — State wildlife officers are investigating the shooting of a cougar near Manson.

The incident was reported on Saturday to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Sgt. Doug Ward confirmed that the agency had received the report, and said officers planned to interview the man who shot the cougar on Monday morning. He said more information would be available after they talked to the man.
