Title: Knight's new CarbonKnight Stock
Post by: Sabotloader on August 08, 2011, 03:45:31 PM
OK any of you folks that have recieved a new Knight DISC Extreme or Big Horn that come equipped with the new CarbonKnight stock, what are your thoughts on the stock???

A couple of weeks ago I was in Kennewick and stopped in at Wholesales sports.  They are one of the new vendors for Knight, they had several Big Horns in stock and standing in front of the counter and looking at the guns in the rack, that stock really looked interesting.  The black stock has a completely different texture on the outside, kinda little swirls in it.

Well, this weekend I am back in Kennewick and decide to make another trip to Wholesale only this time I am going to handle and feel.  I had the counter guy hand me a black stocked - non thumbhole Big Horn.  I really like that stock those little swirls or what ever they are give a really positive grip on the stock.  I even wet my finger tips and tried to make it a bit slick, but it really did not slip.

The Monte Carlo portion of the stock seems to have been reworked also.  It is more pronounced and has sharper lines almost like a real Monte Carlo configuration.

In the past, i could not imagine hunting with a thumbhole, shooting at the range yes, but hunting - questionable.  The last two maybe three years I have made the switch - i have no ideal why it took me so long, so anyway I could not resist asking for one of the camo thumbhole Big Horns in the rack. OMG is that a good feeling fitting stock. It points really easy i like that new stock.

The first trip I asked the gun manager if they were going to get any DISC Extremes with the Western Kit for Washington.  He had no ideal what a Western Kit was so I guess you will not see any Extremes there...

I held a friends new Disc Extreme with the WA kit last Knight :chuckle:.  It had the light camo thumbhole stock. I really liked the feel of the throw.  I think one will be on order......

I have the Bighorn carbon stock and i think it's just paint on it they got some over spray on the butt pad and it flaked right off the pad like paint?  :dunno: I chose the black over the camo because the checkering felt alot sharper.

They feel awesome and really comfortable.  you pull it up and it is probably the most comfortable gun I have owned.  I am so glad you talked me into the disc.  Are you going to buy a new one?

NO! :bdid: maybe :dunno: probably :chuckle:

I quit looking at them...

I just got back from shooting in the Rock Pit with my 52 - gosh! it was great... We have an anterless elk season going on right now till 9/15... I am really getting the itch - if the moring will cool down and stay cool for awhile - I think I am headed out.  I have always said I will not hunt elk in August - never said tht about September...

I hear ya little hot.  The one thing I really worry about is the yellow jackets.  You get a little blood on ya and they will eat you alive.
