So what do you guys do if you call in a yip dog while calling for bears? Do you shoot or pass? I havent been out yet this year but was just thinking about it. I hate those damn things so much I dont think I could pass but then again I want to kill a bear.

I just end up shooting them with a larger bullet than I normally would. But I have zero self control. :chuckle: :chuckle:

i cant pass up a chance to save fawns and calves

:mgun:
About the only time I dont is opening morning of deer. By mid day its a dead coyote.

Spring bear hunting a few years back, I blasted one with my .300wsm at like 20 yards....not much left.
I have passed on two yotes while bear huntings....but its REALLY hard to.
-
I don't pass on them very often let her rip! Probably shouldn't have but I busted one last weekend while scouting my deer area couldn't resist.
-
What do you do with the coyote after you shoot it? Do you just leave it or atually skin it out and keep the hide? I've thought about hunting coyote in the off season but was not sure what to do with them.

Shoot the yote.

Depends on how bad you want a bear. That will end that call session. Shoot coyotes when hunting coyotes. Shoot bears when hunting bears. :twocents:

pass mostly. heading over the eastside need to break in the new AR and call bears. so i'll be calling coyotes. use to wait till colder weather but now that we are having Wolves shoved down our throats i dont care. i will Leave them to feed all the needy creatures. :'( Rick

I have very little self control when it comes to having the opportunity to shoot something :chuckle:. I simply figure that is better to come home with a story of shooting a yote than coming back empty handed. As for do i skin it for the hide of simply leave it...all depends on how much damage my .325 WSM does to it :chuckle:

Kill them....kill them all!

:yeah:
darn lamb stealing, sheep eating varmints

If I was wanting to kill a bear, I wouldn't shoot a coyote. I figure I can shoot coyotes all year long whenever I want. I don't shoot them deer hunting either. I will a few days into a deer season if it's a good opportunity to kill one but I won't take any risky low percentage shots...no sense in ruining a deer spot by slinging lead and missing a coyote that will be blown to hell anyway on the off chance I do hit it.
