-

-
im bow hunting in the 652 on pvt land... lots of elk and deer
-
thats quite a drive for me but if I dont have a elk down by late I might have to hit you up :chuckle:
-
After the beginning of this season it seems i will be hunting alone for now on unless i find a new hunting buddy.
-
im in the same boat bro...... it will be the first year hunting alone for me..
-
where are you located?
-
orting... 652 unit
-
I hunt alone every year. :)
-
I hunt alone most of the time.
-
Me too. I seem to scare off hunting partners. I might get a spotter for elk season though....probably won't last more than three really wet, rainy, muddy days all the while eating packfood.
-
I have always hunted alone for elk with the bow. I'll be hanging with someone this year, hope it works out for both of us. By yourself you can stop ands take a nap anytime/where you want to. ;)
If you have private land to hunt, I can't imagine you would have a hard time finding someone to hunt with you. Good luck and have fun.

I am at my best alone, except when it comes to packing them out, then I love to have folks with me :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
I hunt alone 90% of the time and the other 10% is a "see you at the truck at dark" deal. I am not elk hunting though
-
I usually hunt alone but this year and last year had newbs wth me and showed em the ropes. But i still called and did everything myself only thing is i added a montana decoy iin the mix this year. Had success calling in elk just let em go or had no shot.

I hunt alone every year to .

I am always trying to get my buddies to hunt with me, but seems like all the military guys I ask don't bow hunt. If you are in need of a hunting partner, I may be up for the job. I live out of Roy...stationed at Lewis. Granted, I do have an 8 month old son that demands a huge chunk of my time, but every now and again I am able to get out. Thankfully my wife likes the taste of wild game more than beef.
Let me know if you still need someone.

i will be hunting alone this year as well. this is my first year bow hunting so i dont have high expectations. if someone is looking for someone to call or help pack i am trying to get as much experience in the field as possible so let me know! :hello:
-
Hunting alone I have done good but just as well with a partner or newb but usually alone love to have people at camp and elk hunting partners are helpful even cows an calves are heavy.
-
I normally hunt alone. This year, I will be taking my 9 year old out with me. He'll be doing the calling. We'll see how that turns out. ;) He's pretty good at the basics but, the little chirps and tweets and voice inflections, he's not gotten down on what to use when. Basically, grab the horn and blow is where he's at right now.

I was going to hook up with you last year but you never got back to me. :'(
-
I always hunt alone to. Many great encounters with only me and the Elk! Still like to share a camp with my buds but never go out in 2's.
-
I always hunt alone, it seems to bring out the best of me.

:dunno:
I usually hunt alone, but going to try hunting with someone this year.

I might have to make you take a nap while we wait for a wind-shift.....
Although, after meeting me at camp, you might decide to head out on your own.. :chuckle:

well... i checked me cam today and i like what i see.... i hope i get one biger then last year!
-
I'd much rather hunt alone, but once in a while I have to take along a buddy. I'd take advantage of that private land if I were you, All by yourself.

+1 Good Luck !
I had a friend that bragged all year about getting to go hunt on some private property once......
After he showed up in camp a few days into the season, we asked him "what happened"
He said that they spent the first day chasing tresspassers off the property, after they got rid of tresspassers, the elk were gone too !!
He said it was great to finnaly have the property to himself....but he wished the Elk were there still.......
-
I hunt alone but I sure like others in camp. Hunting alone and camping alone is hard on the motivation sometimes.
-
I'll be hunting alone. I really need the time by myself to think and decompress.
Good luck to all!
-
black bear deer turkey alone... upland with my shorthair buddy
-
I'll probably deer hunt on Whidbey by myself, and so far it looks like I'll be going out for elk early season by myself, I'll probably just get out for a few days.. (if I get back from the middle east in time) i dont mind it, but sure is nice to have help once you have one on the ground.

I'm hunting with my father for both deer and elk this year. Trying to call in a bear and cougar I'm solo... You ever think you're season is completely backwards? Or maybe this solo predator calling is a bad idea? I'm trying to grow eyes in the back of my head right now. :chuckle:
-
I am calling bear by myself this year as well. Despite talking to everyone at work, none of them are willing to go with me. After much debating in my head, I decided to put up a tree stand. It just seems a little safer than having a boar charge you in the thicket with no one to watch your back. Despite the tree stand, cougar still scare the hell out of me. They are so dang sneaky!
-
I hunt alone after I pack in 12 miles with the horses. Only way to hunt. Killed 4 bulls and a cow in the last 5 years doing it. Just cow call to locate them and shut up and get close. Practice shots to 60 yards. Asunimg you are bowhunting. :twocents:

I live in Orting and will be hunting around and could give you a hand if you need let me know
-
Ill be hunting elk with a partner. After that ill be doing coyote, small game by myself.
-
Actually hunting with someone or sharing a hunting camp with somebody are two entirely different things. I enjoy the company in the evenings around the fire once in a while but also enjoy the solitude. I have tried physically hunting with someone and it has never worked out, call me selfish but the act of hunting is my time.
Success or failure is best when I can only blame myself.

Show us some pics!

I hunted and camped alone last year. It sure makes camp lonely, but I didn't mind the solo hunting at all. I did take one fall that had me wondering if they'd find me a couple years down the road, but made it out after all.
-
I hunt alone most of the time.
:yeah:
-
I've gone from more solo hunting to more hunting with a partner. So far this year I have no immediate plans to hunt on my own. I've never killed a big game animal hunting solo.
-
I generally hunt with a buddy 1) im still kinda new to it all 2) its cheaper 3) buddies help pack stuff out 4) friends are are part of hunting. :) however hunting by yourself is nice when its just gotta be you, the critters, and mother nature.
-
I had the most exciting time dancing with a bull last year when I was hunting alone. But, I still miss the evening drink and chats in camp, and the wake-up coffee with my bud. Hunting camp is best shared with a good friend over a campfire.
