Title: trappers dog
Post by: bare.hunter on August 18, 2011, 08:29:46 PM: do any of you guys have a dog that you use on your
trap line and if so what breed is it.I had hounds for years
and would like to have a dog to go with me on my line this
year what do you guys think.

Post by: whitey on September 06, 2011, 12:12:28 PM: I used 3 of the German Jagdterriers for along time very good dogs and fearless. My brother would run them on Mt Lions and bears in Montana. I used them in My Nuisance trapping business.
They are kindof hard to find.

I would think not if the warden saw it in the trap. You might have to do a lot of explaining though if you had the cat in the truck after dispatch along with the dog.
Maybe take some pictures of it in the trap to show him how it was obtained. Worst case you don't need the pictures, then you post them here and brag up your trapping prowess. :IBCOOL:
