This is a neighborhood deer.... Unusual huh?
-
yep.. piebald
-
I heard piebalds were a sign of inbreeding and usually have a deformity whereas an albino is just a recessive gene. we sure had a ton of piebalds running around camano island about fifteen years ago and then the deer population crashed.
-
is a piebald the same as a pinto
-
I saw them also on Camano, and last year I saw two fawns and a mother who all three were piebalds just south of kayak point near tulare beach.
-
Looks like one of those inbred island deer "very short" :chuckle:
-
Saw one in enumclaw a few years ago. He never made it thru the season.

Yes piebald, they are pretty cool deer. We get a few of then around here from time to time.
