Ha's any been drivin aroung on hunting roads and found a shed laying there on the road or by the road....like did you spot it from your car???
-
The wife hates riding with me sometimes cause I'm always looking off at the side of the road instead of where I'm going
Me too! aggravates some folks when I see more game, etc. than they do even if I'm driving. A friend of mine says that's where he finds a lot of the sheds he has is right on the roads that were impassable due to snow in winter.

Mine too, she would get mad when I was looking into the hills and not paying attention to the road. Eventually she told me she will look for animals and I should just drive. Now the state has made it a lot easier to look for/at animals while driving, they cut the rumble strips into the center likes so it's like driving by braille :chuckle:

I've found several in the middle of the road. I found my largest elk antler literally touching pavement. My wife seems to spot them from the road more than I do. I've been going down the hi-way at 60 and spotted them in the brush. In fact, I found on in the backtire of a schoolbus. I stopped to see if I could help and both back tires flat as a 4 point punctured both tires.

I found this one - my largest Rosie shed - when I pulled over to let a truck pass near Hwy 101 in Oregon. Saw the G4 poking up throught the salal on about 10 yards off the road. It was a white thing in the bright green so I told my daughter to hold tight while I jump out and check. 141" 2 year old shed laying along the hard road. Pure luck.

Knarly find Bow...

Ya Muley Sniper spotted a matched 4 point set from the truck this year on the way back from turkey hunting. They were at least 100 yards out there too. It was cool.

I got lucky during this years turkey season. ( not on birds though. Damn birds) while hiking up a snowed out road looking for turkeys i walked up on matching six point sheds laying right in the road. perfect condition.

The only elk shed I have ever found was found this way. One of my blacktail sheds, I almost ran it over with my quad (on my dad's property).

I have found quite a few from the road. One day my brother and I were out snowmobiling at a really popular snowmoblie area and he stopped to point at some deer that were above the road and I looked at the snow right behind his sled and here's an antler tip poking up through the snow. The snow was so hard packed over the top of it from getting run over I had to kick and stomp at the snow to get it out.
I like to make my bro drive when we go out shed hunting so I can watch out the window on our way to our spots. I have found several that way. It's always the same response: me-hey there's a shed! bro-Oh *censored*! me-No really, turn around!" :chuckle: :chuckle:

i miss more deer and elk that way...im constantly looking at the ground for sheds and they just bust out within yds of me. and as usual they are out of range by the time i actually see them.
all 3 sheds i have found in the last 2 years have been in turn arounds or over grown roads.
