I do like me some frog legs.... saw it in the regs and kinda got me thinking.... bullfrogs may be taken with bows... anyone ever give it a shot? i bet it'd be hard to hit one? but seems like it would be a lot of fun :dunno:
-
Probably a bit easier to gig 'em. Spotlight and gig.
-
haha yeah i thought so too... but i thought it'd be much more fun to stick one with a bow :chuckle:
-
Problem is you would probably mangle those tasty little jumpers pretty bad. Let us know how it goes and gig enough for the rest of us. I'll bring the beer.
-
well if i do end up giving it a shot i will definitely report!
will gig frogs for beer... sounds like a good panhandling sign :chuckle:
-
I don't mess with them much. A few of my clients shoot some each year.
-
The problem with shooting them with a bow is a few things, you will loose a ton of arrows, or break them. Also its tough not to destroy them.
-
Been there and did it, :chuckle:, bad thing is you need your swimming trunks cause the arrow blows through and arrow goes and buries or tangles up somewhere away from the hoppy one. then you have a froggy on a string. but was very fun, and in the end there were tasty legs frying in the pan. :chuckle:

What about making a tip like they have on a Hawaiian sling used for spearing fish? It has three straight pointed wires that stick out. They don't cut and kind of wedge the critter into them.
Where can you find enough large ones to make it worth the time?

never used a bow but gigged hundreds of the bad boys in the
delta

Me and the boy shot them alot of fun.
