Sept. 4th was diffinetly one of the best days of my life! My brother and I had hunted for 4 day and had 4 6pt bulls within 30 yards. I always thought that I would be able to judge on the fly but no amount of shooting this summer prepared me for the combination of adrenaline, fear, and excitement that one of these beast screaming and charging in on you would bring. This guy was out of one of the nasiest holes in the Wenaha West unit. It wasn't untill we finally made our final 6hr climb out with meat that I actually didn't regret letting the arrow fly down there. I don't have a clue what class he is in and truely don't care, this is the bull of my life so far and the first elk I have taken with a bow. I couldn't have done this without my brother and best friend, and the best elk caller in Wa in my opinion, thanks also to Mike, Scott, and Chad, I would love to return the information favors anytime I can. Also my bow shop, Whitetail Archery Plus, makers of the straightest shooting arrows and your willingness to work with a guy and his old bow made this trip, yeah, old slow bows do kill elk just fine. To everyone else on the site good luck and God bless!

I'd like to know this as well. I started as a bow hunter, switched to rifle in '91...now thinking about going back to bow! I still have my old Browning Accelerator (late 80's) and I'm thinking it is too old to hunt with anymore. Advice anyone?
-
Congratulations LuckyDog! What a bull and more importantly...what an experience! You'll always remember this trip!
-
Great Bull!!
-
Great example on a Wenaha bull!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Bow was a 96 Pearson Spoiler, drew the tag and couldn't afford the hunt and a new bow to go with it, my bow shop was awesome to work with, didn't hound me to buy new like many others and we got it done. Speed kills yes, but so doese well placed razor blades, shooting about 190 fps, thankful to have had the opportunity!
-
Stud bull! And with a bow that makes it all the better!!! Congrats!
-
Great looking bull congrats
-
Nice! :)
-
Great bull!

These are the kind of stories I like to see come out of the BLues. To the hell with Mossback and those guys, this is what I call hunting. PERIOD
-
The body on that thing is huge! Bet that was a hell of a pack out. Congrats!
-
That is a very nice bull Luckydog, thanks for sharing the pics of your hunt.
-
very nice bull, looks like you worked hard for that one good job. :)
-
Nice bull.
-
Hell yea, that is a great bull but a better hunt. I have a hunch you would have been happy with almost any bull being that it was your first - the fact that you tipped over a brute is even better. That bull will be well over 330 once you put a tape on it.

Great bull, and a tag I would love to get some season. Just got back from 166 unit. and saw lots of elk, but no shot opportunities.
I did bag a fine black bear opening day of the season in the Blues! First archery kill. I will post pics later on the bear hunting site. :IBCOOL:

Lucky congrats on a awesome bull!! Whitetail archery is that in deer park? Looking for a taxidermist ? I have high recommendations for who I used for my peaches bull last year. FYI not to jump to conclusions, but plastic bag may spoil your cap because it can't breath. Not trying to step on your toes just want your mount to look great on the wall! congrats again and let me know
-
Well done, I know how difficult that area can be, Congrats.
