Title: Hunting Partner
Post by: msouthj on September 11, 2011, 07:15:58 PM
I did not fill my deer tag during my trip to eastern wa. Looking for some one that bowhunts western Washington and would let me join them so I can get my deer. I am a novice hunter but very experienced archer and outdoors man.

I don't get it. Why would you need a guy to post their truck and gear?  :dunno: Does this mean if a fellow hunter and outdoorsman only owned an SUV and didn't use a pack frame but instead used just a large pack that or whatever he could afford that you wouldn't want him to go with you??  :o Maybe I am misinterpreting the comment. At least I hope I am.

msouthj....you can tag along with me anytime. I don't care what you drive or what kind of gear you have. Being safe, responsible and ethical would be and should be my only concern. As long as that is in play, your welcome in the woods with me anytime.

Also a well used packerboard shows that a guy isnt afraid to put some miles on his boots off of the road to get an animal.  I think many of us have taken guys out for the first time only to hear 2 hours into a hike "so when do we stop because my wife was expecting me to be home in time for dinner" :bash:

Thanks S N S.  Griz, no offense meant, it is like the personal ad looking for a woman with a boat, please post pics of the boat.  Msouthj, hope I didn't lead you on, I'm on the eastside and have hunted deer westside once in my life - no kill.

I thought it was a stupid request myself and I would never go hunting with some one that is more concerned with my gear outside of making sure my bow is legal. How I get my deer out is my concern and not any one else. I made a specific request for help with an area to hunt in Western Wa because I have always hunted in Eastern Wa and I did not fill my tag this 2 weeks ago on my trip. Lol, I put the pic up so I can show off my new personalized license plates. I actually read that post to my wife and she laughed saying some thing like "wow, the girls we know that hunt wouldn't even ask that question." I am going out Sat morning to bow hunt deer, I live in Sumner, if any one can point my to a good place I can at least see deer, or even wants to go with that would be great.

Lol, too funny, I am glad my wife is not like that. Me going out hunting means she can sleep in longer.

But what if he posted a pic of himself standing next to a subaru with a rainbow sticker, wearing a thong with his packboard on.... :chuckle:

Buckmark.....I've met you......sooooooo........take this as you will. If you want to come help me get a bear out of the woods you may wear a thong and "praise the rainbow" t-shirt if that is what makes you happy. Now, that is not going to be pretty I know, but......I'll still take the help.

Acutally, your post a while back about the ideal road hunting with coffee and a loaded rifle to prop up on the door sill to take a shot is the first thing I thought of when I saw some serious responses to this post. You posted a very well written comment that was obviously in jest yet somebody got in a huff and pointed out everything that was illegal in your comment.

Hellooooo!! People have no sense of humor. They should all go hunt c-post and enjoy each others company.

@msouthj - People are just funnin you, dont take it seriously just a way to break the ice.
@ The people that took it seriously, get off the putor and go outside and look for your funny bone, put a want ad up because you all have lost it somewhere...
@ h2ohunter, call me when yogi hits the dirt, or better yet call me when you go and i can tag along, no thongs as i lost mine at the rainbow gathering and cant find a suitable replacment, all too small.
The sub is all gassed up as the people passing me at the street corner were extra nice last weekend.
If you all see me parked at the trailhead leave a note saying peace out...

msouthj, the later hunts east are much better than the earliy hunts, better weather and the animals are moving/grouping by then, if you ever want to hunt east let me know, if your just looking for a meat deer i can put you on a few, going over this week 16th-till?? and the late hunts in nov are the best bet for a nice whitey buck...

If we were hunting together, how you get your deer out is also my concern. I won't hunt with anyone who is not properly prepared.
