got a call yesterday morning about my nephew being involved in a fatal car accident in pendleton oregon and had to call off my hunting trip. he is 22 and was flown life light to ohsu in critical condition. this superseeds any hunt i would ever take. changed plans and made my vacation into an emergency trip to see him. the woods and all their glory will be there when i get back, even if i have to wait until second season. even though i am new to the site, i am looking for some thoughts and prayers for him from anyone and everyone that would like.. hope everyone else has a safe rest of the 1st season archery, and god bless!!!

PENDLETON, Ore. -- Oregon State Patrol have released the name of a man who died in a crash along Highway 11. They say 25-year-old Abel Joseph Trejo died at the scene. 22-year-old Brock Adam Mecham was airlifted to a hospital in Portland with critical injuries.
Investigators say the two were driving on Highway 11 just five miles north of Pendleton in a 1994 Toyota 4Runner sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. They are not sure who was driving, but say they were speeding on a straight stretch of road when their SUV traveled across the northbound lane and off the highway. They rolled several times and landed with the SUV on its side.
Neither Trejo nor Mecham were wearing a seatbelt. Police say they were found lying in a ditch near their car at about 5:45 Tuesday morning.
