This could be old news Idk, but has anybody read all the bashing these animal rights guys are saying about us guys off huntingWashington.com about this wolf killing? Just Google Skinned corpse of wolf discovered in Washington state and read the comments. B.S.!!!
-
We as ethical hunters need to step up when the anti attack us. We need to kill them with kindness cause all they are trying to do is get us mad and make us look bad :twocents:
-
Yeah, unlike other crimes or criminals of different sorts whenever its a poaching its always "the hunters" in general that is the target.
-
I could only hope it is someone off of here that killed it........

Apparently it's comments like this that they are speaking about:
I could only hope it is someone off of here that killed it........

on the bright side though after scanning through the commnets its pretty much just like 10 people posting over and over versus a mass of people.

These forken :tree1:
They just got to be miserable inside. They don't have a life! Reminds me of an ol' Cliché "Misery loves company"
Go get a life!!! :tree1:
Oh yeah............
My dad is gone now. But he would have meetings with the EPA now and then. He was pretty pissed off with this one he had to deal with. She just pranced into the meeting room and before she ever grabbed her seat she blared out "My calling is higher than yours" I'll keep the details to myself. They are really screwy and unreasonable. But I guess I'm preaching to the choir here. :chuckle:

Old news and no further comments since February.

Yeah, good idea.....lets just keep our comments to ourselves..... matter of fact, lets not say a damn word about anything......So, while the wolf population keeps going up....and the deer and elk numbers drop....like they have every where else....you can all start complaining then!
I for one will not keep my mouth shut about it......I hope each and every wolf is killed! There is a reason why they were eradicated years ago.......
As for my comment.....Yep, I do hope it was someone on here....or another hunter in general.....The wolf should have never been brought back to this state.....and if someone dropped one....so be it!
I am not out there to please any wolf lover.....tree hugger....or granola eater!! IF they don't like what I got to say they can just cry me a river....because I for one do not like their actions or what they stand for.....
Maybe some of you should just crawl under a rock and hope that know one is offended by what you do or say.....Maybe you should stop hunting all together so that these people don't get offended by your actions..... That is the problem.....we has hunters will sit back and keep our mouths shut.....all the while the anti's are out there screaming and yelling....getting their point across......That is why they get their way (Bear baiting/hound hunting, Wolves) and we get the short end of the stick! Keep being passive....it is REALLY working.....isn't it????
((MY COMMENTS IN KNOW WAY REFLECT THE BELIEFS OF THE HUNT-WASHINGTON COMMUNITY OR THE HUNTING COMMUNITY......THEY ARE STRICTLY THE BELIEFS OF ONE REMINGTON300MAG)) There that should help...........

Nice rant, but I was talking about their comments - nothing new since February. I've been very active and vocal about the wolf program and my problems with it. If you're a frequent visitor to this site, you'd know that.

I think he was responding to Knocker of rocks.

I view it from reality. Wolves were run out or killed off when there was a whole lot more room for them to roam, and a lot more to eat. Reintroducing them when the habitat will not sustain them without human conflict was completely irresponsible. Should we try to recreate t-rex? Of course not. Wolf lovers typically come from areas with no wolves, or captive wolves..... A long ways from reality.
When I spoke to weitas creek outfitters in the clearwater backcountry and asked him about the wolves.....which are in his area heavy, he got pretty choked up. He said it made him want to cry knowing just a few years back the area was full of game and now it is sterile ground and so few elk that the wolves were actually moving out. To know that they ate out an entire habitat in a few years is disturbing. There is not enough free winter range to support the wolves style of killing. But who would think of that...

how was my comment bad in any sorts, I was just letting people know that use this site to talk about hunting that these people were bashing this site in comparison to this wolf killing. I don't support the reintroduction of the wolves, I dont support poaching, but i do support huntingwashington.com.

Arteman nobody is saying your comments were wrong they were referring to Reminton300mag stating that he hopes a huntwa member killed it.

I agree we should be vocal about it, Rem. I also feel that we should speak in such a way that we don't come off to the 93% of the public who doesn't hunt as blood-thirsty, wolf-hating maniacs who are willing to break the law to get what we want. Many have expressed responsible views regarding the wolves here, not advocating illegal activities. However, the comments of people who DO promote poaching of wolves will always be picked up by the fanatics of the other side and used to turn the fence sitters against us. We need to be vocal AND responsible in our objections. Let the wolf fanatics come off looking like the idiots and zealots, not us.

I hope every hunter out there does their part when they see a wolf that's the only chance we have.

Comments like this paint us all as poachers and lawbreakers. It's not the people in this forum I worry about reading this. It's the people from outside who'll use it against us and others will see this and listen to them. IMHO, this is irresponsible posting on this topic. Just my :twocents:

If we stop telling these guys how ignorant they are for encouraging illegal activities this thread will die and we'll all be better off. My :twocents:

God what a mess, yeah your right. I should have never opened this can of worms. You can still defend your cause but be a little more choosey with the wording. Certain comments should be moderated and deleted in defense or the rest of the people that use this site, last thing I want is us to be judged as a whole.

Hate to tell you Pianoman.......But by sitting back and being responsible in our objections making the wolf fanatics look like idiots and zealots has really worked so far.....RIGHT?!?!?!? From what I can see they are getting their way....more and more wolves being spotted in this state all the time..... More and more wolves being introduced! Like I have said in previous posts.....there is going to come a time when you will all realize that the anti hunting community.....the tree huggers.....the wolf lovers way of going about things is getting more done to stop what you love more than your way of doing things is doing to protect them......
So....start a little group and everyone sit around and TALK about the wolf problem.....do you honestly think people in Montana and Idaho didn't try that?? Really Worked for them.....RIGHT???
Now, someone as weak minded as dirty wants to sit there and call me ignorant.....well DIRTY, if ignorant means I am not going to let *censored*S shove their way of life down my throat without me doing something about it......I guess I am ignorant......But what does that make you??? Maybe a weak minded, conformist??? Or if you are not willing to speak up about it.....what does that make you???

Arteman,
I believe it would be against the law for bearpaw or the mods to delete a members posts in an effort to cover up illegal activities, there are law enforcement officials that monitor this site. Rem300 is just the latest keyboard tough guy calling people names and ranting and raving. Theres always a rotten apple in the bunch. he's a troll , sitting waiting for somebody to respond so he can run his mouth over and over. For that reason I wont post in this thread anymore.

Excuse me??? If ya look back I believe you were the one that referred to me as ignorant and now referred to me as a troll.....So I guess you are the internet tough guy that started calling names......and by the look of you in your pictures...the internet is the only place you are tough buddy.....just saying! Oh, and I didn't call "People" names....only you!
I could give two @*&%'S if law enforcement is trolling this site.....I didn't say I had done anything illegal....didn't say I planned on it......people, including law enforcement can look into it any way they like.....Fact is, until they can prove I have broke any law....they can cry me a river!
Now, will I continue to run my mouth in regards to the wolf issue....YEP.... Do I believe that us as hunters should put our foot down and stand up for ourselves....YEP!!! Speak out against things that are not only being done to us, but things that are going to affect future generations??? YEP!!!
The problem is DIRTY.....while you sit there and don't speak your mind.... while you sit there in fear of the man listening to you.....The anti's are out there screaming and yelling....jumping up and down....and getting their way! I have said it more than once.....what we have tried so far has not and will not work......Here is a question for ya Dirty.....What do you want to leave behind you for your kids??? Or your kids kids????
-
Oh and Dirty...Is the comment I made really any worse than the comment you made a while back......
"to be honest i dont apy attention to all the wolf regs and stuff. so in idaho can you easily get a tag and and bag him. or can u go buy three 3 sheep and and let the wolf do what it's gona do then react in self defense of your livestock?"
Hmmmmm are we playing both sides of the fence???
-
WoW, this thread needs to be locked as far as I'm concerned. How bad are we when we resort to name calling. Come guys!
-
You can kiss the antis a--es all you want. And say the politically correct things all the time but its not going to change the fact that if your a hunter they hate you and are going to do everything in their power to destroy your way of life. There are times when you have to what you feel is right I'm glad our fore fathers knew when that time was.
-
I know that one of the pacs of wolves are very close to one of my hunting area's. You can bet that I will continue to hunt this area just like the 30 years before now. When these killing machines come looking at me for a free easy meal or just something to kill I will fight back and you can bet they won't win. Not talking about anything illegal, but not gonna run either, not from the wolf or the tree hugging, wolf lovers who want them here!!!

Rem, have you considered anger management classes?

Rem, have you considered anger management classes?
Been there and done that Miles......All they do is try and teach people to better cover up and hide their aggression! I left more pissed off then ever! LOL .....what is so wrong with making a stand??? Our forefathers sure as heck stood up for themselves and in turn they got things done! I guess that is the problem these days.....maybe some people should stop being so passive.....start standing up for what they believe in. Or, a lot of you can just sit in your corner....huddled into a little ball, holding yourself.....rocking back and forth repeating to yourself that it will be alright.....And hope that works......
There's a country song that states it pretty well...."Stand for something, or you will fall for anything"
-
I personally don't believe in censorship and also believe people should work things out. PREFERABLY in a civil manner. Most opinions will be allowed to be heard. That does not mean we as the administration of this site condone/support illegal activities.
Just becasue an opinion is different or radical, it doesn't mean it shouldn't be heard. You'll note that outdoorsman and tree huggers have alot in common, they just go about things in a different management perspective. Somewhere in the middle there are a bunch of regular normal even keeled people. Then you have far left and far right radicals.
Sometimes its good to take a stand versus marching into the ovens.

For anyone interested click on Rem300's recent posts and look at like the last 50 posts. All he does is argue, rant and rave talk about being a bad ass redneck and get confrontational, blah blah blah.
Dude i got a couple bits of info for you:
1. I could careless what anti hunters think of me, but that doesnt mean I run my mouth to intentionally piss off someone with different views than my own. I dont like wolves anymore then you do.
2. FYI from 2000 - 2004 while you were sitting in your trailer drinking warm beer I was overseas serving my country in the military ( so dont talk to me about being a weak minded conformist )
3. Just because your taller and fatter then me just doesnt mean your tougher buddy it only means your taller and fatter.
I feel bad for even responding and letting you bait me in to arguing So this will my last response on here but if you wanna call me whatever names you like or get confrontational just pm me and we can work something out in a more private manner...
-
See, now that is civil.
-
What did i miss how did this all become an bad topic.... Shoot um i'n the guts and nothing ever happend.... I would rather eat deer and elk then hunt wolf..... If it crosses the border dump it's ass.... We all know the rules.... But they have already said they will not prosecute..... It's a big hungry dog that shouldn't be here... It would be like fighting agents a cure for cancer... I don't wanna be on that list I'll shoot tell I'm out of bullets and snare the rest of them....

The name fits.

i honestly dont give a fam duck what bunny huggers think of hunting or anything else i do, they've already shown that they don't care for anything but their own agendas, and they'll break laws and lie through their ass just to get what they want, but its stupid to step down to their level and promote illegal actity, but sometimes its just hard when thats the only good choice you're given, serioulsy, at this point it seems that the only choices we have is to kill all wolves on sight or be a good boy and give up hunting and eventually your guns,..
-
The name fits.
:chuckle:
I dont say alot when it comes to the "Wolf" topic because the opinions we see are either black or white! That is the problem; if all the middle of the road folks keep there opinions to themselves and we turn all the topics into locked out rage cage matches we get nowhere... Everyone on here knows if the S.S.S had no repercussions we wouldnt have a wolf problem... and with the recient dumb a$$ accidently shooting the Grizzly thinking it was a black bear we hunters are getting a bad spotlight shining in our direction... We need to attend ever single wolf meeting they have and fight the good fight... Eventually they will give in, but i hope its not too late...
-
Me too ive seen wolves as far down ass baker city... What happens when they come to my town or your town... Ppl will wanna fight a little more America is filled full of ppl that if they can't see it, they won't bother w it.... Alaska is managing there wolf population why can't we ??? Or better yet have Alaska and Canada come get um.....
-
My perspective is this, I have never been for the eradication of anything, sans perhaps mosquitoes. I think it was beyond comprehension to reintroduce wolves when the original carrying capacity of the land was not enough for wolves and humans when there were a fraction as many humans, unlimited range and lots more animals to feed on. Now we are faced with a serious problem, do we try to thin the wolf population back to a small number or let them multiply and eat themselves out of food? Wolves have proven to be less than responsible hunters and often sport kill, that can't go on too long before they must move on or starve. Our state has densities of animals that lie very close to humans, unlike wy, mt, id and ak. Here when the wolves show up in force, and they will, it is going to be with certain conflict to humans......not just hunters. We as Americans dropped the ball on this by trying this silly experiment. What if we could bring back t-rex? We have the technology to do so, but we have seen Jurassic park and know how that story ends.
-
I agree, but have to tell ya we don't have the technology to bring back T rex. :chuckle:
-
I don't agree with the reintroduction of wolves in Washington, but also I don't get heated on the subject being from the westside it hasn't hit home yet, but I could see how you eastside folks can get easily heated over this. Ive heard rumors that they are talking of introducing them in the St. Helens area to manage the elk herd, if that happened I would boil over, I've been on the mud flow in may, I've seen all the dying elk, bones, and carcases. How about more tags, more revenue for the state, more happy hunters. Also I couldn't imagine having to carry a gun to take my kids shed hunting. The bunny huggers got their way with the hound hunters 15+ years ago and now look, there is "special" programs to manage the cougar and bear for the problems they're causing, there is a reason why they wiped out the wolves and it will come around again. I for one would think the animal rights guys wouldn't want the wolves reintroduced in fear for their safety, sure as hell wouldn't want to if I was a wolf. I cant say I wouldn't figure out a reason to defend myself or my children if I did see one out in the woods, wouldn't want that feeling or having to look over my shoulder on the way back to the truck.
-

I don't think you'll find any disagreement on this forum. However, the number of hunters on here who openly advocate poaching wolves indicates to the non-hunting community that we're all extremist wolf haters and willing to break the law to attain our goals, whether we all are or not. Members who publicly post that they'll shoot wolves on site make an impression on non-hunters that the anti-hunters are correct.
Our public image is important since we represent only 7% of the population. Of the remaining 93%, a very small minority are anti-hunting. The distinction between anti-hunters and non-hunters is important. Non-hunters are not anti-hunting until they're convinced that hunting is bad. But, when the anti-hunters point out to the non-hunters the rhetoric of a few who would poach and shoot wolves illegally, it makes us all look extremist and could move non-hunters over to the anti-hunting group. This is a danger that we must recognize always. We must always speak knowing that the largest portion of non-hunters is on the fence for most of these issues and they will choose the side that seem the least fanatical and make the most sense. If we raise our voices in opposition without advocating lawlessness and with facts and reason, many non-hunters will hear our voice and understand. If we come out advocating poaching and illegal activities, many will listen to the wolf lovers as the voices of reason. When that happens, we're certainly screwed. Our public image is much of what will sway the non-hunters one way or the other.
-
I agree, but have to tell ya we don't have the technology to bring back T rex. :chuckle:
:chuckle: :chuckle: That would be awesome! Then we wouldn't be @ the top of the food chain anymore! Maybe then human population overshoot would be kept in check. Afterall - wolves aren't the only critters who are beyond their own carrying capacity... ;)
-

Pianoman,
I got one question for you....I do agree with what you say about the image of hunters.....BUT, can you honestly say that anything we do or say will stop the taking of our rights? Every year we lose more and more......The antis do what they want.....they line the pockets of politicians.... and we keep getting the short end of the stick......and now we got the wolf issue.....My stand on that is, when the wolves have decimated the animal population in this state......how long before they shut down hunting to all of us???
And like I have said before....it doesn't matter if you are a saint in the woods or a poacher.....either way the antis hate you the same.....
-

Yes, I do think what we do and say, and how we say it makes a huge difference. Remember that the "antis" are a very small portion of the "non-hunters", probably only about 10% or less. We're not trying to sway the "antis". We're trying to show the rest of the "non-hunters" that our goals are reasonable, as well as our actions, that we're dedicated to conservation and balance in the wild.
Look, the average non-hunting person hears "we're reintroducing wolves" and they get all Jack London and weepy and chit. They think that's just great. Then the crazy people who are pushing for the wolves are telling them, "see, those crazy, extremist hunters want to kill all your wolves and your children will never hear a howl in the wilderness". They show them quotes from forums like ours where people say "s.s.s." and such. And they think, "damn, those hunters will do anything they want unless we can stop them". But, when we speak with facts and rationality, the antis will look like the crazies. When we point out that we're the ones who've been pouring money into conservation through volunteering and the Pittman Robertson Act, and that we're the ones who brought back the elk, deer, buffalo, cougar, bear, and other wild critters that were almost hunted to extinction by US government shooters, they can begin to understand that we know the woods and the wild, and these freaks speak from emotion and a lack of knowledge and truth. Our way of speaking makes a huge difference in their listening. Our actions and words must represent hunters as a responsible force for conservation and balance in nature, like we truly are.
-
:yeah:
We need to make statements that divide the Anti's support while unifiing ours... Our position needs a better sell job. Think of all the Anti's (could be just 1-3 people) that have started an account said some crazy stuff so we would react then disapear not to be heard from again? It is definatly a tactic I would use if i were them... It divides us (ie this conversation) and provides "proof" that they are right. :twocents:

Awwwww is the little guy angry?!?! Funny thing is I sit here laughing at you..... You cant awnser any of my question I ask you because you know I am right...... Nope, you go on and start calling names again, trying to talk like you are some sort of forum hero....
I still don't see why you can mention buying sheep for the purpose of baiting in wolves then shooting them....without a tag.....Isn't that poaching??? Stop playing both sides of the fence dirty!! Oh, also I have seen where you have said it is alright to get even with someone by cutting their tires....also illegal! Sounds to me like your not exactly on the up and up......
Then again we will see how you feel when the wolves are in your back yard.....I am sure the wetside will sing a different tune come that time.....
As for Dirty trying to call me out......LMAO.....Are you serious??? I can sit here and puff my chest out.....I could talk like I am going to throw down.....but this is the internet....Know reason to take it there.....well unless really want to.....and in that case you should really go have a talk with your daddy.....cause if you are ready to fight over an internet discussion....you were not raised right at all!
Edit....and this is the second time you have said you are done responding on this thread!!! Just so you know........

Pianoman,
I got one question for you....I do agree with what you say about the image of hunters.....BUT, can you honestly say that anything we do or say will stop the taking of our rights? Every year we lose more and more......The antis do what they want.....they line the pockets of politicians.... and we keep getting the short end of the stick......and now we got the wolf issue.....My stand on that is, when the wolves have decimated the animal population in this state......how long before they shut down hunting to all of us???
And like I have said before....it doesn't matter if you are a saint in the woods or a poacher.....either way the antis hate you the same.....
See, This is exactly what I am talking about man......Everything you wrote sounds nice! Sounds like it is a winning game plan!!! BUT.....did any of this work for Montana, Idaho, or North Western Wyoming??????
I am pretty sure they took the same stance as you at first.....and look where it has got them.......So, do we wait until it gets as bad as it has over there.....or do we speak out now??? You tell me????
All I know is I want something left for my kids and grand kids.......At the rate we are already losing opportunity.....what is going to be left....Think about what we have lost just in the last 15 years.......

That's all I've got. We're the minority. You figure it out.

:yeah: Well put, I couldn't have said it better.

The wolves that they are planting are a high breed they are bigger in all aspects compaired to the wolves that were here long time ago. The wolves that were here a long time ago were only maybe 100 pounds and the ones that they are planting now are over 200 pounds. They are bigger stranger faster and that is not right. The only good wolves is a dead ones
-
my friend is taking hunters ed right now and his instrustor is a retired fish and game officer from the east side or something but anyway he said he heard rumor that they are going to be planting 300 wolves throughout washington... then he started saying numbers like 4400 elk per yr and so on, not sure where hes getting the info so like i said rumor so i hope its not true!!!!
-
Those are some damned big Coyotes
-
he said he heard rumor that they are going to be planting 300 wolves throughout washington...
Probably unlikely. They are effectively walking anywhere they want to go, and are expanding their range without cost.

You know, the problem I have with the three Ss' is that third S, sure seems alot of people like to talk about it :bdid:

I don't think the "Anti's" have as many numbers as they think. Also, if the USDFW and the Pro-Wolf groups had kept the agreement on wolf numbers 10 years ago hunters and the general public, (as well as Congress) would not see wolves as such a threat to things. These groups are using wolves as an ESA hammer. What we need to do is focus. Fighting each other isn't helpful. There are not enough people in the woods, (hunters are not poachers) to deal with this situation. It doesn't matter where or how the skinned wolf comes from, if the person/s are caught and convicted or not isn't going to increase or decrease wolf populations much, these indivdual's actions will however delay delisting which hurts the State's ability to manage them. Which, OK, so this drama plays out forever.
I'd like to see the anger and frustration focused on the changing or elimination of the ESA all together. ESA should be State controlled for all experiments. I'd like to see people who have a lot of energy about this subject look at joining advocacy groups on our side, putting their time and their money to work in what might turn out to be fruitful endeavors. But, that's just me. I don't think the red hunters see is bloodlust. It is frustration with what appears to be a Government that takes their money and betrays them. We have yet to get really political about the right to hunt. Because our Tags and licenses pay for the outdoors we assume that Departments have our back. Lately and for some time that is not the case. It's the ever changing desire to represent all sides and the appetite of Lawyers suing for our tax dollars that have made this fiasco. Pro Wilderness, anti human groups have made fortunes off of our anger, our ignorance, and our dollars to fund what they are doing. We need to focus, wolves are a tool, not the problem.
-
It's all a baby step process, but the end result isn't all that hard to see. Use an ESA listed animal to thin the ungulats to the point they can use the ESA to eliminate hunting all together. Getting the RockyMtn elk listed may seem like a strech, but wait untill the wovles get west of the Cascades, Rosevelt elk may not be that far of a reach, and just another step.
I see the same thing happening on the Columbia river with the sealions and sturgeon, once sturgeon numbers get low enough we will have no keeper fishery, regulations will mirror the snake and fraiser rivers if we are alowed to fish at all.
-
True about the sea lions. We paid for those fish. Sea lions have no $ value. Salmon bring sport, commercial, and Indian fishermen $, food, a sense of harvesting nature's bounty. Healthy populations have a surplus. Sea lions just hit the females, and just eat the roe. If we did that, Peta people (sheeple) and granolas would be screaming. Instead it's all about look at the pretty air breathers. The tribes should slaughter the sea lions instead of running down trophy elk with 4 bys and popping them with mini-14's. Off topic but important as an example of tree huggers giving our wildlife to predators that ain't from around here. Forget about trying to walk on eggshells with those types. They don't eat a proper diet of red meat and fish like God intended. When is the last time anybody heard of a tree hugger buying any sort of a tag, permit, liscence, boat launch pass, donation to Trout Unlimited or the Mule Deer Foundation, or even bothered to take a reality check of any depth? Thought that it was a coyote, lady. Relax.
