Barbara Christensen @Tom and Jim, The plan *does* include a number at which wolves are removed from state endangered listing--15 breeding pairs, which was the minimum accepted by biologists and collaboratively agreed upon by the majority of the wolf working group. No other wildlife in the state are managed by a cap, so it remains inappropriate for wolves as well.
Given the budget crisis at the state, I thank the WDFW for hosting as many meetings as they are able to, even if it means I have to travel to get there! Thanks, staffers, for your hard work!
My reply:
Naithan Kain @ Barbara They are talking about a max number before management begins not a maximum number of wolves. 15 breeding pairs or 150 wolves which ever comes first. To use your argument no other wildlife in this state is managed by breeding pairs so it remains inappropriate for wolves as well.

Karen Dowe 15 breeding pairs is a MINIMUM. I and many others support wolf reintroduction in Washington. Let the minority whine all they want.

Karen blocked me a couple months back after a discussion we had on Conservation Northwest's page. She has no answers for valid questions and isn't willing to maturely discuss the topic at all. She is also not from Washington and has made it her mission to recruit as many out of staters to support this cause

:chuckle:
I just through that on here to get everyone all riled up.

Kain... Your responses were fantastic... I am hoping you can be at the meeting or at least send in your comments.

There is a point that needs addressed. AFTER 15 BP, what is the process. At the meeting I went to, (and I'm not clear on it) but that is when the paperwork is sent in to be delisted which can take years. Again, I'm not clear but the fact that they may be willing to submit the paperwork means nothing about a real timeline.

man, karen is a piece of work. :o i'm done playing with her. you guys can have her! :bash: she's so full of herself it's scary! :yike:

"When the wildlife population goes down, so does the Wolf population. It's simple common sense. You CAN NOT control nature. It's as simple as that. Again, my friends went to idaho and Montana more than once this year, and had no problem finding elk, while never being able to even see the so-called over populated wolf.
Wanna keep your livestock in the presence of wolves? buy some livestock guardian dogs to warn you when the wolves and other predators are about.
The wolves are here, more are coming. So get used to it and help us to help everyone co-exist. Thats our only route."
