I've Put in over 100 miles the last few years hunting hard for elk and deer with my bow, and have seen alot of nice animals, had them within shooting range more times than I can recall, but haven't had a situation work out in my favor for a clean ethical shot. Everything finally worked out the way you dream it will 2 days before archery deer was over. I was in a good area, on a good trail and had seen many does during the day. It was the last wink of shooting light, so I pulled my bow back to see how well I could see my pins. Just when I was ready to let my draw back down and start my hike back to the truck, I hear some noise to my right, turn and have a 4x4 w eyeguards at 30 yards. I double lunged him and he died a little ways from where the arrow laid that passed through cleanly. It was pretty awesome already being at full draw and not having to make any noise or movement to give my location away to the buck. It feels awesome to finally have all the hard work pay off. Before then, I felt like the last 3 years, I had to have been the most unlucky hunter around considering Ive never had a problem getting into animals...but, it's all in the past, MEATS IN THE FREEZER BABY, IM EATING THIS YEAR!

I really want to do a euro mount, but I'm in school full time and working, never done one. Any suggestions of a good price for a euro mount either in the ellensburg/yakima area or in the puget sound region. I've heard there is someone in graham, wa that will do a euro for 50 bucks, and then ive heard some taxy's charge as much as 150

Try to find someone that can use bugs. Boiling the skull is tricky, the last one I had done by a taxidermist was so brittle it basically fell apart when it was touched.
I have had pretty good luck just skinning the head and sticking it out back tied to or hanging from a tree. Leave it until next spring or when as clean as you want it. Wrap a dark bag around the antlers to help keep them from bleaching out and a grocery bag around the skull to help hold in moisture. The natural beetles and flies will clean it up pretty well, then you can bleach or peroxide it yourself.
