norsepeak, that was an awesome video. Brings back memories of calling a 5x5 shooter bull into 5 feet and not being able to shoot him because I had failed to draw the tag in that dang unit!! What thought was going through your mind just prior to announcing your presence to him?

I would not have had the guts to let it get that close before telling him "hi".  I've said "hi" to some bulls at 5-10 yards that were coming down the trail at me, but that one looked like he was about to step on you.

Thanks guys.  We actually worked about 8 bulls last evening, but this guy was very hot and came right in.  I was actually standing on the ground, he just had his head down as he came in.  I stopped him at 6 feet.  I think he would have tried to walk right past me if I hadn't stopped him and that could have gotten ugly if he tried to wheel around like he did right next to me.  It was a cool experience and we didn't blow him out, he kept bugling at us, so we are gonna try to kill him saturday morning, got two clients that might be interested in him. :IBCOOL:

He's big enough for me!  If I can ever draw a tag again I'll consider your services.  Exciting when they come in like that, but unless the shooter is off to the side and you can get him to stop in the clear, getting him on film is all you get.

Clearly not close enough for an ethical shot, and no this bull is no where near big enough for my taste.  Yeesh.

This one goes to Norse Peak. And most of you are not going to like it, but I don't care. You need to keep your f%$#mouth shut about this video and where you are seeing bulls on Peaches. At least you could have dropped the Peaches thing from your Re: heading. You might as well give everyone your GPS coordinates. All you are doing is creating revenue for your company. All you care about it pumping your chest, so other people will pay for your service. Why else would you broadcast this on a public hunting forum? Furthermore, you go on to tell everyone about 8 more bulls on Peaches (thanks a lot). Might as well put a bill board at the bottom of I-90 telling everyone to head up the Taneum I got one right here I am going to kill it on Saturday, what a jerk. This is ridicolous for an outfitter to broadcast to everyone on this forum where a bull of this caliber and 8 more are in a specific area, at the minimum you could have just stated the GMU area. Thanks a lot Buddy your the Best.

Hey Duck,

I have hunted that area for over 20 years. Peaches is a big area and the fact that Peaches as well as other areas on the East Side hold alot of bulls really is not a secret. From what I read I hardly think that was even close to giving away a honey hole. I understand how sacred a good honey hole is in these times, but You may be just a little on the harsh side. Just my two cents. Not that you probably want them. :twocents:

I just can't believe an outfitter though is broadcasting this on a hunting forum, just plain stupid. You go to the sportsman shows and ask guy some questions and they are tight lip. Keep the honey holes to your self for your clients thats the way it is.  I have hunted with a guide before and they never mention areas or even GMU's to people. It's hard enough to get the bull tag, and we have one that starts on 10/24. And yes the peaches ridge area incorporates the 346 area. Just seem silly in my opinion

I also think the October 24th hunt will be completey different from the Peak Rut time that is going on right now and from where this video is derived from.

But good luck on your hunt and fillin the tag!

I haven't hunted Washington state yet, but have been a part of this forum for quite some time.  It seems to me that the great hunting spots in this state are very well known.  Seriously, are there any secrets anymore?  I hear the same names come up over and over again, Peaches being one of them.  And isn't it a LE area?  So it's not like anyone can buy a tag and head up there, right?  Maybe I am missing something?

***Oh, and as a business owner as well you better believe creating revenue is priority #1.  If you don't, you won't be a business owner long.

I'm getting a chuckle out of the fact that this was advertised as a bull that comes from one of two GMU's and then someone comes on here b*tching about giving away their honey hole and at the same time helps us further pinpoint his location as being in one of those 2 possible GMU's.  I guess I can cancel Little Naches off my list and concentrate on Taneum.  Thanks Duck!  Anything else you want to say to help me zone in a little more? :chuckle:

You mean to tell me that Norse knows where all 8 bulls are in Peaches?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I had heard that one crossed the road, so there may only be 7 bulls left.   Perhaps he heard one twice.

Seriously Duckpoopdude, or whatever your name is, your rant is too funny to be taken seriously.  It takes all of 2 minutes scanning the regs to know where the elk live.  You can crawl all over Peaches Ridge and not see elk if you don't know what you're doing (unless you're with Norse, in which case they come to lick the salt off your boots).

P.S.  Norse, can you point me to one of your spare bulls up in......   quiet now..........   PEACHES RIDGE, WHICH JUST HAPPENS TO BE THE ONLY AREA IN THE STATE WITH MORE THAN ONE BULL ELK?

@DuckDr,

Norse typically packs in to areas.  If the video shows a bull that you would be interested then you have competation with Norse.  Other then that I do not see any other location in the information he posted.  If you contact him he you will find out he is a very nice person and will help you out if you have a bull tag for that unit.  Good luck with your hunt.

I'll give away my honey holes.  There are elk in most of the Cascades, but lots of them west of Yakima and a bunch North of I-90.  I've seen big bulls almost everywhere I have hunted.  You can read the harvest reports at WDFW and see where "most" of the elk are.  "Peaches" is a big unit and you can find elk just about anywhere.  Now you do have to get away from high traffic areas to get to the highest concentrations of elk.  If you find elk, you will find bulls in those areas too.  Hope I didn't give away "your" honey hole.  :P

Doesn't everyone know by the color and size of the pine needles on the tree to the right of the bull that this was taken just south west of I -90 off no tellim ridge that runs along no tellim creek.  Also the dew that flew off the tree branch when the bull took off is indicative of the northwestern slopes of the Manashtash ridge that divides the two GMU's.  The dirt that was kicked up when the bull took off also had alot of mineral deposits which must mean I know its feeding area next to quartz mountain.  I think the video was neat and didn't give away any honey hole.  I also have the bull tag for unit and can tell you that unless you have one tied to a tree come Oct 24th you wont have all 150 tag holders in the same spot.

Duckdukey - you're an idiot.  Of course he's trying to build his business... it's how he makes a living and feeds/clothes himself.  duh!!!

Really cool video Norse.  I hunt that area and see big bulls in there every year and have had several encounters similar to that although not as close (yet).  Been trying for that tag for 15 years straight now. One of these years, i'll get that bull tag and may be giving you a call.  You'd think with 15 points I'd be a shoe-in... not.

In regards to the price....
Does one get a 1 on 1 gps coordinate bull?
A 2 on 1?
By what method do you guarantee that all 8, I mean 7, bulls will be within inches of these GPS coordinates?
Are the prices for these coordinates negotiable?  I mean, I don't want to take the food off of the family's plate or anything....

Wow this is crazy duck doo As a holderof one of those coveted Peaches Tags I am not concerned one bit with a post like this I think it is awesome and appreciate Norse Peak putting it out there for us to drool over after all it is advertising.  I have seen several bulls this year still trying to tie one up but need a longer rope.  im sure they must be the 7 bulls that are talked about being in the Taneum wait i saw them in Little Naches did they move?  you are ridiculous and if you take offense to a post like that maybe it would do your blood pressure some good to not be on the site after all we all are driven by the same thing big bulls. good luck Hope I shoot your bull this year. :chuckle: :chuckle:

And this is a bad thing?? Do you not like small or independent businesses? I mean a small business owner using all ethical means possible to promote his product/business in the hope of gaining customers/clients with the intent of making a sale for a profit and succeeding, why that's just horrible....
The only reason there are hunting shows is so product manufactures can pimp there products, the only reason company's pay huge as in millions of dollars to advertise in the superbowl is so people like you will buy more bud light...
I cant figure out your angle on being pissed off. YOU dont even have a big bull tag for this area...

Duck, why don't you start again and we'll stop laughing long enough to give you another chance. This site is free to the forum contributors and only because people like Norse pay money to be sponsors. Peaches is huge. Showing a video from Peaches without being more specific is like saying there's a needle in one of those haystacks over there. Sometimes we share information about locations, usually it's pretty vague.

What we also try to do here is not assume someone is doing or posting something on purpose to ruin someone else's hunt. We're all hunters. This is a great site. If you enjoy the company of other hunters, this'll be a great place to visit. If you're someone who thinks that posting is a place to vent anger, maybe join one of the stupid news forums like KOMO has where people stay p.o'd all day long and rant wildly about stupid crap. I hope it's option 1. Welcome to the forum,
PMAN

Duckpoopdude:

There is a biblical proverb that goes something like this:

"Better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

I realize that it was written before the advent of keyboards, but wisdom literature prevails over time.

Do yourself a favor and quit confirming that you are such an idiot.

Your rant against an honest man running on honest business is downright stupid.   In order to teach you a lesson, I'm now going to give away your steelhead fishing honey hole.     Hey everybody, THEY"RE CATCHING FISH AT BLUE CREEK ON THE COWLITZ DURING THE WINTER STEELHEAD SEASON.

I hated to have to resort to that, but dude you are acting like duck poop.

The good news (for you) is that apologies are generally well received in this site,

Nothing wrong with this thread. Rugged Class outfitters are a advertiser on this site and I've seen Norse help out plenty of folks (free of charge). Peaches is where they guide and theres no secret about the good bulls up there.
 Post away Norse.

Gasman, I've got several good vids. that we've taken, but I'll wait till after the season to post them, I don't want to give away anybody's secret spot, because elk don't move, they stay exactly where you see them. :chuckle:  Anyway, we are going up in the mountains somewhere in the western half of the u.s. tomorrow to try and find an elk if there are any left and see if we can take some more video that I won't post so I don't ruin anybody's hunt.  Good luck everyone!  Stop in camp for a cold one if you are around....sorry, no ducks allowed! :chuckle:

Duck, I could somewhat see your side if he had posted a vid of a truly big bull. Every eastside permit unit has many bulls of that caliber. The fact that he was on eight bulls and had that one picked out for clients to kill opening day makes me wonder about the top end quality of the unit. Norse seems to be a good guide so I am assuming he has a good idea on the quality of the unit and if he is telling guys who will realistically draw this tag every 15-20 years to shoot a bull of this caliber opening day either he has clients who would be happy with any "nice" 6pt or he feels it is unlikely to connect on a big mature bull. Or maybe his clients are not physically able to get into the tougher to access areas where the better bulls tend to hang. Cool vid Norse and good luck in filling the tags.
