I am thinking of some Halibut fishing in the Strait next year and was wandering if anybody has any pointers for the areas or any info would be good.

Any part of the strait? This year I believe quite a few (big ones even) were caught in shallow water. A couple of the hotspots this year seemed to be near the mouth of Discovery Bay on the Port Townsend side and some of the areas around Protection Island. Year before Freshwater Bay seemed to be a hotspot.

I would steer you towards www.salmonuniversity.com (http://www.salmonuniversity.com). they have a pretty good section on halibut and it points you towards the major banks and holes.

Thank you for the link, I have never been up there fishing. I grew up on the Puget Sound but stayed in the south/central sound areas. Would like to give it a try. Figured I would motor up next year and moore the boat for a couple weeks someplace and give it H*LL. :chuckle:
