Title: Big Black tail walked up on me while bear hunting
Post by: Biggerhammer on October 02, 2011, 06:19:04 PM: While sitting in a clear cut on a slash pile out in the open, this black tail walks right up on us. For some reason doesn't even know we are there. Looked right at us briefly and, we didn't move. He just fed right across the landing and off the other side. Snapped a few pics with the iPhone and this was standard frame, not zoom.

I showed several friends and they say he is big but I wouldn't know? If he was a mulie with a rack like that I would definitely pass on him. You West side guys would know black tail way better than I .

Post by: Biggerhammer on October 02, 2011, 07:54:31 PM: I've had that happen over here during elk, the deer seasons closed and a 27" maybe 28" mulie feeding 200 yards away or so. Knows I'm there but doesn't have a care in the world. :bash:

You can stand with your back to the gas station in SkyKomish and look straight up the mountain and slightly to the left at the clear cut he was in. About a mile above the locked gate with the small bridge creek crossing just past it. No joke! Good luck!

He sits alongside the brush, next to the fog line But he is smart, he knows when to cross the freeway, and when not too! Its soo dark, i cant get a good pic with my cell. I dont want to try the camera, some BC person will wreck, and blame the flash. :bash:

to spot in the brush we have on the west side!
