Same here. I haven't big game hunted with firearm in several yrs,( Archery since 89 ) but do enjoy coyote hunting. 25-06 is by far favorite to use. Checked 257 in poll

I think there are lots of cool rifles and calibers. Guns are a tool So i vote for shotguns, they can shoot everyting from bird shot to slugs and buckshot the univerals tool like a cresent wrench or a pair of vice grips. And then the work horse the 30,06 walk into to any harware store and pick up a round that goes bang. any bullet you choose if zeroed at 200yrds is only +2 to -3 in from 0-250yrds. You can shoot swank bulltes like the trohpy tipped, or cheep ass military ball for 50c a round... The only other round i would include if i had a 3rd choice would be the 22lr. cheep, effective, and its easy to store 1k rounds! :chuckle:

It was kind of hard to pick only two favorites. :o I chose 300, Love my Tikka 300 WSM and then chose an arrow. Now, I also love to shoot my 22lr because its so cheap and fun. I agree weapons are tools and that is why it is imperative to have as many tools as you can so that you are able to choose the right one for the job! ;)

vague questions like these are are difficult, Good thing it was a short poll so i didnt have to decide.
-
based only on versatility, .308/.3006 is very hard to argue against......that being said, I'm looking at a 6.5 Creedmoor for the near future.
