Title: Remington 887
Post by: mjtbackcountry on October 12, 2011, 11:54:58 AM
I know this gun is a couple years old, but wondering if anyone has hunted with it before and wondering what they think about them? Ive owned one and it seems to jam on me from time to time. Anyone have this problem?

Mj are you talking about it not jackin out a spent shell? If this is it you might try what I did to my 870 super mag. I had this problem then I took the brass cleaning brush put it in a drill and run it in the chamber for a bit and kind of slightly honed it out and haven't had a problem since.
Hope this helps

Mike

havent had that problem with my 887.  Used to have that problem on certain shells with my 870.
I have been shooting Xperts and Federal HD in my 887.

What have you been shooting?

I've been using an 887 in the salt marsh for two seasons and it has performed flawlessly. Not sure if it is just in my head, but I seem to make cleaner kills with the 887 than my Vinci. I also like the 3 1/2" option with it.

Cheers!

remington shells have usually been the past culprits for me.  The old green hulled nitro steel or similar were issues.
