7 of us set out for a duck hunt 3 hours outside of Bogota Colombia on Friday afternoon. There were Blue wing teal and Pisingos (Black-bellied Whistling ducks) The group ended up with 150 ducks in 2.5 hours (no limits here). Marinated duck breasts were the appetizer that evening.

Is there no limit because there is no management? Or is that their management conclusion - no limit?

There are no hunting laws in Colombia. Very few people hunt and have access to guns and ammo. The Government has been thinking about how to institute hunting laws or stop hunting all together; they been thinking about this for over 20 years. Therefore those that can.... hunt and harvest what they want.

Looks like a great time! Were you able to bring your own firearms or did you use a locals? I know Colombians are not
to big on hunting, so I wouldn't think there would be much for guides or outfitter services. Any other opportunities
at bigger game? I might make another trip down before the end of the year. Maybe have to give that a try!

Hey James,
Went through the permit process to get my gun here. It is do-able on a short term process, but when you live here and want to keep it in Bogota for a few years it can be challanging. Our Guide is a local that does not hunt. He finds where the birds and gets permission for us to hunt. We pay him about $15 per hunter per trip.
Let me know if coming down.
