:dunno:was just wondering if this ram.I shot is a nice enough ram tha meat was pretty good too but do you think its nice enough for a neck mount?
-
I don't know, maybe if you post some more pictures and a story we could tell you. :chuckle:
-
Odds of you shooting another one unless you are filthy rich or unbelievably lucky are astronomical. I'd mount it.
Nice first post. WELCOME :hello:
-
...
-
I'm not in tha best of shape b :chuckle:ut the 5 hour pack to tha truck was awesome an made me feel I earned this to tha fullest was an awesome hunt
-
Round is a pretty good shape. lol Your way in shape, sheep shape. lol
-
I'd do a mount yes
For a comparison
These rams were taken by a friend we stayed with while antelope hunting in WY, both booners I think, but he never measured them, the dall is I believe 42 " and the stone is 45".
Your ram is definetely good enough to mount bud
-
damn those are nice ones id be happy with them
-
Its a once in a life time tag hell ya mount him :IBCOOL:

-
those are nice ones madmax an time2hunt is that a rocky mountain an whats he score
-
Any ram is a nice ram to mount....
-
By neck do you mean it is caped wrong :dunno:
-
Any sheep worthy of at least a shoulder mount! :twocents:
-
Is your ram from this year? this state?
-
I would do a shoulder mount on it  If not then a euro mount would look great. Looks like a fairly nice ram from what little bit I can tell from the pic.
-

Yea bud, you're leaving us hanging here. Details, story, come on man. Maybe a couple more pics where you can actually see the horns.
-
I don't wanna start anything but yes this is my ram forfrom this year I drew one of two tags for the rez this ram has 15"an some change bases an 31"an some change curls don't really know where else to take measurements these were transferred from the clemens mountain or the canyon area six or seven years ago they aged him at 6+ but when they drilled an plugged him they was sayin he was a baby or was born up there was an awesome hunt all in all hella pack out too but what made it worse was I dropped him one shot with/my 7mm butrolled an rolled an off a 20 to30 foot cliff
-
Show that thing off! Lets see a good pic! The ram deserves it!
-
Any Ram I shoot in this state........or any other....will get a shoulder mount. A Ram permit will not come for many who apply. Nothing wrong with a 6 year old ram, Mount it. There are a lot of great taxi's on this site. Congrats
-
yeah when he went off the cliff messed up the cape pretty bad I really wanted to but tha taxidermist said it wasn't any good :dunno:
-
Euro mount. Those are cool too.
-
Thats too bad hair trigger. Like they suggested, a good euro would look awesome too.
-
Nice job! What area did you get him in?
-
ive seen a few euro rams and they are sweet, get a nice wall hanger for it. lets see some more pics!
-
More pictures for sure. Looks like hes got good mass but thats about all you can see
Madmax that stone sheep is incredible...
-
hows this picture :dunno:
-
Any ram in WA is a nice ram! Look on the bright side, a Euro mount is a fraction of the cost of a shoulder mount, plus they look great! Congrats on the hunt!
-
he does have some good mass but still need to get scored can y'all take a guess like I said 15" bases 31" length an here is a few more pics
-
Hope you did not throw away the cape! Get a second opinion! There is a bunch a very talented taxidermists on here and maybe they could make it work! I would sure do every thing to get that ram mounted, beauty!
-
just sent it off for some buckskin to be made
-
That's some expensive buckskin
-
Mount it!
-
Could have gotten a pretty penney for the cape......
-
Another option that you might think about is hitting one of the local conventions such as the Sportsmen's Convention at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue in February. They usually have one or two capes to be auctionned off with the appropriate paperwork from the state.
-
That's some expensive buckskin
Not to him it wasn't.
How did the cape get ruined?
-
I think he said it was ruined when it fell off the cliff he shot it on. Which unit was it taken in?
-
I got him in the closed area of the Yakama reservation j :IBCOOL:oe
-
Looks like it would be nice on your wall it sure looks nice to me.
-
That cape sure didn't look too bad to me. Too bad. That cape was worth approx $1500.
-
Dah .... :o Do not care who shot it -where it came from - what it taste like .....MOUNT IT :yike:
-
I'm not a rich guy so IF i am ever lucky enough to draw a tag to hunt one it will probably be the only chance in my life so I'd full body mount mine. Idc if I had to rack up credit cards to do so, sale the truck, sale the wife, that's my dream hunt. Your a lucky man, congrats on a fine looking trophy no matter the score.
-
Mount it.
-
You must have thought it was a nice ram or you wouldn't have shot it. It looks nice enough to me.
-
Mount it! Congrats!
-

Exactly my way of thinking as well. If I am ever lucky enough to draw a sheep or goat tag, its getting a lifesize. I plan on doing a lifesize if I ever draw a ewe tag as well...

I've told my wife the same thing when she questioned why I even put in for a ewe tag, told her if I drew a ewe tag I'd full body it in hopes that before I die I'd get a Ram as well and incorporate them both in the same habitat scene, I'd even head mount a cow moose, so if I got a bull I could put them side by side. It's all wishful thinking though, I couldn't even draw a doe tag if I wanted to. My wife though is lucky, she will draw if anybody does.
-
Mount the ram. I have my ram in Montana right now getting a full body mount. Who knows if I'll ever get a chance at a sheep tag again?
-
if you have the oppurtunity to draw and kill a ram, doesnt matter how big it is mount it.. its a trophy just trying to get to them and get one off the mountain..

How did the cape get ruined?
He went off a cliff tore a nice chunk of neck hair off right in front to boot
