Title: Any cougars while deer hunting?

Post by: jmx369 on October 27, 2011, 09:48:20 AM: I did not see a cougar, but I found a deer that a cougar had been feeding on. It was a fresh kill and not much had been eaten. I think that I might have scared it out of the area as I approached the kill site. The deer wasn't cover up at all. I didn't have a cougar tag, but fortunately I didn't see the cougar either. I went back a few days later and the deer have been completely devoured.

This email is to inform you that the Fish and Wildlife Commission recently adopted changes to cougar seasons in Chelan, Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, and Klickitat counties. Cougar season in these counties opens for "Any legal weapon" on Oct. 15, 2011 and closes December 31, 2011.

Was wondering how many people were able to take advantage of this new season?

Wife wants venison so I'll meat hunt that first, then I'm all for the other species of deer killers. Maybe some road hunters and spotlight deer hunters too. <---- That is unfortunately a joke......

Post by: crowinghen on November 27, 2011, 08:22:52 AM: Saw one in the early season while archery hunting. First one I've ever seen, wasn't too big ...yet. It kind of makes me interested in shooting cougars and coyotes when I think about the deer in that area that I like to hunt.
