Title: I'm Going to Mentor a 9 Year Old in Archery
Post by: pianoman9701 on October 24, 2011, 10:17:37 AM
Hey Guys,

One of my neighbors is a 9 year old kid who needs something to do or he's going to wind up in troujble. He's definitely an at-risk youth. I've received permission from his parents to teach him archery with the possibility of hunting with him down the road.

What is available out there for equipment discounts at retailers? Does anyone have a starter bow and arrows they're not using? This should be all I need to get started. Let me know what your suggestions are and thanks in advance for your help.

I am actually doing this very thing right now with a nephew of mine. He has been learning to shoot with my wifes bow and is actually a pretty decent shot, only losing one arrow to date. He has been working for my father in law greasing our semis and trailers to earn money to buy his own setup. Well we go pick up his Bowtech Soldier from Wilderness Archery in Bow, WA on thursday. He is really excited and hopefully he can get enough practice on the new bow to go on a few hunts with me for late archery.

best of luck, Cliniford. I've received a lot of support from these guys in here for this kid. If you need support, make sure you ask.
