I am trying to find a new duck hunting jacket for this season. I currently have the 4 in 1 Cabelas jacket but it is just too warm and bulky for me. I am looking for one that I can wear under my waders, that is warm and waterproof but not too thick. I would rather just add another layer under the jacket if it is really cold. Right now I am looking at the Cabela's P.I.T. Jacket but was wondering if anyone else had any recommendations.

Revolution fleece pullover from cabelas. Its not bulky, I can easily put it underneath my waders, plus it is plenty warm for me. Last year around thanksgiving we hunted one morning it was -11. Just put on some underarmour and that jacket and i was good to go.

I finally bought the Rivers West Eider Jacket, and I love it. Its not bulky, its warm, and I like the features...

I looked at those too and they are actually on sale right now online. I am 6'1" and about 175 lbs. I can't decide between a large and an extra large....

I use a Rivers West Eider jacket and will throw on a Drake pull over if need be. Under Armor and Drake make quality clothing as well.

Well I'm about 5'8" 150 (wittle guy) :chuckle: and mine is a medium and it fits me well. It has a draw string on the bottom so you can tighten it up if its too loose. I think I got mine when it was on sale as well.

I just bought the new under armour skysweeper jacket and like it so far. Everyone loves the rivers west but I have a long torso and they never seem to fit me right. I also think they feel awkward, not necessarily bulky but not exactly flexible either. I've heard they are unbeatable in a pissing down rain. But i'd never want to wear one under my waders. Layering up is the key.

I have looked at this one as well. So many decisions it is tough to decide. Wish I could try them on but the closest Cabelas to me is a few hours away. :bash:

You can't go wrong with Drake! The magnetic pockets are the ticket! Might look bulky but mine fit in my waders perfect

drake is the best I have used. 120 bucks well spent

i have the drake lst 3-1 wading jacket, looks bulky but fits very well a lot of cool features. little on the spendy side but a very good jacket you get what you pay for and then a little more. my 4th season with it prolly wont replace it for awhile. just like you i over heat in almost anything i swear i could wear a t shirt hunting sometimes and sweat. i usally just wear a long sleeve put the wader jacket on and use that. if it starts raining pretty hard i throw on the parka or if it cols down abit.

Not to bust any bubbles- but have you guys actually tried those revolution fleece pullovers out in the rain? I have had three total- and every single one leaked like a sieve. Actually- it was more of a design problem. Water funneled down the zipper line and just poured in. Sucked- I really liked the fit of the coat and I thought it provided just the right amount of insulation to be comfortable in most weather. I don't like hunting in the rain much anyway, but with that coat absolutely no way!!

I hope that isn't true because I just ordered one today... :yike:

Drake shooters 1/4 zip pull over jacket is perfect. I use under armour cold gear and a long sleeve t-shirt under it and I have hunted in -10 degree weather. Bought the new Columbia Omni-Heat Thermal Reflective top and bottom to replace the old UA.
