Title: Got a Nice Whitetail a 7x9
Post by: buckhorn2 on October 27, 2011, 08:33:16 PM: Had a nice hunt in eastern wa for whitetails. I hunted opening weekend and this buck got away from me so came home and regrouped and went back again and the buck was not 50 yards from the place I saw him and this time it was different and I was able to get him. We did get one other 5 point that was in the rut with a swollen neck but really did;nt see a lot of bucks. We saw 2 little bear and I wish I had my camera as I was only 25 yards away and they both went up a pine tree and just hung on watching us they were really cute. Here are a couple pictures of my deer it is a 7x9 that is 22 inches wide with good mass and long tines.

Post by: buckhorn2 on October 27, 2011, 10:02:54 PM: I had to come clean it was a texas heart shot but the only shot I had it was 200 yards running strait away he pulled the same trick he did on opening day when I tried to do it right. I thought about it for a while and told myself if it happens again I am shooting so might be a little short in the meat department.

Post by: buckhorn2 on October 28, 2011, 12:23:47 PM: It was bad over here on the coast to Erin with lot of new locked gates put everyone in just a few spots. It;s raining and blowing hard here now and that usually helps over here but seeing very few so far. The taxidermist we go to had only 1 blacktail mount to do so far and he usually has a lot and he hunts and said it;s aweful and is just going to do only out of state hunts next year.
