Title: bear in a septic tank
Post by: kenzmad on October 30, 2011, 10:50:16 AM
I own a septic tank cleaning company here on the westside. one of my customers is having a problem with a bear getting into his septic tank. he just called to tell me that it ripped his tank lids off and tore off his filtered outlet baffle. my question is, if I go out and shoot this bear is it worth eating it? I have no idea if it is safe to eat or what. Personally, I think it's kind of funny. he says that it bit his pool and popped it, if they leave a soccer ball outside it bites it and pops it. he is a young bear that is no longer welcome.

I am wondering how much spice it takes to make the sausage taste good :chuckle:. I feel for my customer as this bear is coming in almost every night and ripping the tank lids off. he is going to try mounding some dirt over the tank but that kind of defeats the purpose of having risers installed. I am thinking about buying a trail cam just to see what the bear is doing, is he fishing around in the tank or what :EAT: :puke:

They should get in touch with the wdfw and see if they could move him so he doesn't have to die for nothing.  He is obviously not worth eating if you know where he has been dining.

do they still relocate garbage bears? I thought they did away with that as they just found out they will be garbage bears wherever they move them to

Can you imagine the discussion during the meal while you're eating the bear?  Your wife- "Honey, what did you use to season this bear with?" You- "Everything we've ever eaten!" :puke:

So who will the lucky hunter be who bags this "pre-seasoned" bear high in the berry fields after it is relocated....  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I just spoke to Mill Creek. They told me that they don't do relocates very often. They can trap them and do a "hard release" on site. this is to educate the bears as to what is and isn't acceptable behavior. she also recommended an electric fence, but this is right in the middle of his yard. I don't know what he's going to do

Borrow a small electic fence and put it right over the lids.  crank up the voltage.  Listen for the roar.  Get motion lights...

I'd season this bear with a stool softener and cover it with malox gravy.  :yike:
