Hey Chuck! Great to see you on here!
Not sure if you remember me from BT Country, but I had won a raffle at one of the meetings for a jacket some years back but it didn't fit and I made sure to pass it on to you! I really had no interest in all of the California and even Oregon BT's that made up most of that website and started looking around and found this great site. Been on here ever since!
Again, great to see you on here old friend!
As for contributing to the topic, I don't have any pictures of my wall, but Charlie posted a thread with my bucks when they were finished:

They sit in opposite corners in the living room at my Dad's place right now.

I call the wall "Bucksarray". The plaques identify the animal, and show weight and date, and place taken. They are all pretty old. The muley I killed in 1969 near Winthrop WA. He is 29 inches wide, field dressed 240 pds. Thanks for your interest. Call again. Muskrat

Alan I remember you well. It is nice to hear from you. I still have that jacket. I am forever grateful to you for giving that to me. How is your Dad? I still have a piece of the elk he gave me. I keep it as reminder of my good fortune. I too am a little depressed about the other website. I grow weary listening to all the non hunting palaver that goes on there. Not much of a source for hunting info about Washington. I am grateful to 1morebuck for directing me to this site. It is great and right down my alley.
I keep getting older, and am running on low octane these days. But I still manage to get out among them. I just came back from the NE Washington high country where I was hunting Whitetails and Mulies. Not many of either, but did take a nice whitetail doe, which is good for me. Well, Alan, tell your Dad hello, and you and he have a successful elk season. Keep in touch. Muskrat (Chuck)

Nice racks Muskrat... So how has your deer season gone so far?
Hi Hunt, thanks. My deer season ended about 15 minutes after I got in position overlooking an
old skidder road and the deer got in her position, 98 yards down the skid. The Nosler Accubond
went off and that was the end of my season. I was hunting in the over 65 season in the 101 unit. Nice whitetail doe, about 150 pounds. Great time, and very challenging. The High Cascades are very intimidating to a senior citizen. Anyway, all is well with me. I just turned 74
and hope to be hunting elk in the late archery season. Good luck to you. Muskrat (Chuck)

I remember seeing those bucks at the same meeting Alan K attended. I was the one who won the spot hog sight, and sold it to Foodplot, cause I don't archery hunt. Good to see your still around. I'm in the same position on btc. Can't stand all the "Cali bucks are better then Wa bucks, and Ore bucks are better then Wa bucks." to much drama. Haven't been on that site in a very long time, and can't say as I miss it. There where a few guys that were good people from down there but way to many attitudes for me. Congrats on your doe. Good luck on your elk tag. I just hope I'll be able to be in the woods when I get to be 74.

Sweet wall!

YES SIR.....nice looking wall!!!!

Outstanding trophy wall Austrian Hunter. I have a brother-in-law in Texas that has several walls
in his Man Cave (the whole house) that look about like yours. He has taken every African animal
except a hippo. He is 88 years old and still says he is going to take a hippo. Thanks for sharing
with us. Congratulations on all your past hunts and good luck in your future ones. Muskrat

You are the man and hunting at 74. I bet most of us hope to have your get up and go at that 74. You have set a great goal for most of us. With the exception of you damn older brother. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
It is interesting how many were on BTC and went to the BTC meeting as well.

Ron
Ron glad to heat from you. I have often wandered about you and how you were doing after your health episode.
I am getting along pretty good, and still let the desire to hunt guide me. I don't tromp around the hills at all anymore. My companion hunter posts me in a likely spot and I just get lucky.
Thanks for your message. Take care, and good luck hunting. Post some of your outstanding pictures. Happy Thanksgiving. Muskrat (Chuck)

Outstanding pole placement, and beautiful animals. I bet a few other trophy kitties have graced that platform :)
-
Dads shop, poor man's trophy room. And the meat pole out back
-
Good Lord that place is awesome!!! Some day I will own my ranch with a garage/barn that looks like that. Loading bench, kegerator, bow range, and a whole bunch of other things I cant afford!
-
I hate the term "man cave". Women use it like "pile all your $hit into the back room or garage please"

When's the party Austrian Hunter? And are we all invited? Haha, after seeing those walls, I feel somewhat ashamed of mine, but will post it anyways...
-
Austrian, I just returned from the Cabelas Store, which is 1/2 mile from my home. I realized that your Man Cave looks better than Cabelas. Super display. Thanks for sharing. Muskrat
-
Bolsen. A dream cave. What more could a man want in life. Just beautiful and inspiring. Muskrat
-
Awesome man caves. I don't have enough animals yet to make a good man cave
-
couple more....
-
I think we should have the next yearly potluck/meeting at Austrian hunters house....... :IBCOOL:
-
I'm still trying to complete the cave so I can display all my animals, just a mess right now with stuff laying all over.
-
Here you go!
-
Some more views...
-
Congratulations to all. These are some awesome Walls. What a neat way to spend these long
cold nights looking at some beautiful animals. Thanks everyone for sharing. Keep em coming.

-
Holy crap Austrian Hunter!! That's friggin awesome! Did you harvest all that yourself?
-
Those are some nice mounts you guys have there I don't have a man wall yet but one day I will get there. Austrian hunter what do you do that you can afford all those mounts?
-
If I remember correctly, its not Austrians house...just a friend with a large wallet :chuckle:
-
:yeah:
-
:yeah: And about every year someone starts a thread about man-caves. Austrian waits until a couple of guys put up pics of their caves and then posts the "stripper pole leopards".... It usually sparks the following discussions:
1. That I want to be that guy when I grow up
2. What I should have studied in college to make that kind of money
3. Who has a stripper pole in their house
4. Why is God mad at me and apparently loves this guy
5. What heaven probably looks like
6. How do I get Austrian Hunter to be my friend
7. Where the next Hunt-WA get together should be held
8. Whether or not to invite wives/girlfriends to the next Hunt-WA get together
9. If wives/girlfriends should have to fill out some sort of questionaire before being invited to the next Hunt-WA get together
These are the most common topics. Some of the more seedy one I have omitted. Thank you Austrian for your yearly man-cave contribution. It's like the rut; I look forward to it every year...
-
It's a start...... The rest of my antlers are in the garage. This is all the wife would let me put in the house :)
-
Sweet pics!
Here's mine

-
havent seen too many jackalopes running around this year
-
Well our house is more of a family cave, everyone in the family hunts, we mounted all the kids first critters no matter what size they were, so everything isn't what most people would call trophies, but they are to my family, here's our main deer and elk wall.... :)

There's my dream wall. I dig the rugs on the ceiling and a couple does...nice touch!!!
-
Chuck great to see you on here, my man cave right now is spread out between three states so hard to get pictures up. Hopefully will be building the new house soon and then will have it all back together.
Once again great to see you on here....

My youngest daughter's doe in the previous photo is one of the neatest mounts in our place, she is beautiful. For twenty years my wife wanted a cub mounted and I wouldn't let her shoot one because I was worried about what other people would say that come to our house. I was gone hunting in Idaho and she killed this cub and had it mounted. I have to admit, it's one of the coolest mounts in our house...

Thanks Joe. Just the mounts you have on the walls in your house here in Washington, make me drool. Nice to hear from you We did not get any mountable animals this year. Dave and I both got whitetail does in the 101 GMU during the senior hunt in October. Has not been a good late archery hunt for elk for us. Hope all is well with your family. Merry Christmas. Chuck (Muskrat)

There are layers of felt behind the skin, push thumbtacs through the felt into the wall to support the rug, just make sure they are hidden behind the skin.
-
havent seen too many jackalopes running around this year
They are a very elusive animal, and require heavy scouting with at least 2 dozen trail cameras to properly pattern them

Can't remember if I posted this or not yet, but this is the old house, getting ready to remodel the new house and have some awsome plans for it.

pretty cool Norse

Bearpaw, I agree, our kid's animals are trophies also. We just didn't do headmounts but just horns. All their deer including does, I made 5X7 photos framed for them. Love all the great man caves. Ours are in the livingroom. Here are a few but not all. This year's are not there yet cause I haven't taken the pictures. One wall is missing also and all the antler mounts are in the barn due to not enough room. Many are also in the basement, which are not pictured.
