I'm not sure I see the tens of thousands of "wolf viewers" in the stats. What a crock of crap. NPS survey stuff is so mushy that everyone seems like a "wolf viewer". when the park attendant asks "were you here to see wildlife?" and the tourist says "yep!" they get marked in the "wolf viewing" box and counted by the enviro groups...lame.

How many wolves would need to be in an area for a tourist to actually have a chance of seeing one. How many hunters & supporting business would not be in the area if the wolf populations were decimating local populations. How many people would be out in wolf populated areas with thier kids or pets if more were made aware of the Hydatid disease? or once the stories of encounters with humans start surfacing?- tourism ?? dont think so!
