Actually we have been having a good time even though we havn't seen anything atleast my dad has a cow tag in his pocket, but I do think its a little bit odd that we cant seem to see a single cow in 3 days, even from the road in 346; I don't think ive ever been one day up 346 without seeing a few elk and now spent almost every hour of legal light with no luck, it shouldn't be that hard to find a cow up there right now.
My dad is a disabled hunter and has never harvested an elk; my brother and I helped him get his first deer 5 years ago and his second deer 3 years ago and I thought a 346 cow tag would be a slam dunk, he can walk about 100 yards if the walking isn't to steep and the footing is fairly solid so we just road hunt a lot.
I still believe we have a fairly good chance I am just a little suprized we havn't seen elk across a canyon, before or after legal light and pretty much no sign in the fresh snow.
Ohwell atleast gold creek restraunt still makes a killer breakfast, lunch or dinner to give us an hour or so break from our all day road hunt.
