Here's a nice buck that showed up only 35 minutes after I left.
-
Yeah that is a big ole slick two! Looks like a mature deer too. Probably wont get much bigger than a two. Its funny that you stick the apples to the trees. I am going to smash a bunch and rub them on the trees tomorrow morning.
-
I put the apples on the tree in hopes of getting some different angles but it didn't work. A small buck knocked off the lowest apple and didn't eat it. Then a couple of coons came in and while the camera was timed out the apples disapeared. Not sure if it was the buck or the coons.
We were less than 150 yards away discusing a tree stand location when that buck showed up.

That apple tree is hilarious.

What a coincidence I passed on Mike the Spike Wed and again Turkey day. He put on quite the show though and in three days ate all the apples I had put out. (bout 30 lbs) I'm gettin pics of bucks at night but nothing seems to be moving during the day. Hunted Wed all day, Thursday all day and Fri PM.
Hope you stick one BTKR, any rutting action that you have noticed?
-
Nope. It didn't happen.
I passed on the spike Turkey day, and then passed on him and his even smaller brother the next day.
Third day I decided I was gonna kill the next deer that came in..but nothing came in.
Have not seen rutting activity here in weeks and it seems to be winding down.
