Looking for a place close to spokane (private) that I can take my girls to get a couple of does. I've got 2 girls that are 11 and 15 the youngest will be taking hunters ed this august and it'd be nice to get her her 1st deer. The oldest got one a few years back. I usually take them down south to 139 but the land I hunt is getting overrun with other hunters and I'd really like to get them a spot closer to home that has less pressure. A buck would be great but not necessary.
I've noticed a few guys from spokane on here maybe you have relatives or land??
I'll return the favor if possible. I'm experienced in coyotes and know some decent bird hunting land. Maybe we can talk.

Call the regional game dept office. I have buddy was in the same boat last year they gave him names of people in the spokane area, he called them and his boy and another boy both killed deer opening day. JB

thanks. never thought of that. i live about 3 miles from the office too.

Hey I work wit a guy who has some private ground. He's the only one who hunts it for bucks, but he has told me in the past if I knew anyone that wanted to hunt does, hed let them on. Ill ask him Monday an see if that offer still stands. If I remember right its like 200acres of mixed timber an a small hayfield. Ill see what he says and let you know.

Thanks all, appreciate it. I have more fun hunting with the girls than with anybody else.
The youngest is very excited to get out there. The oldest doesn't love it as much as I do. Shes definately a teenage girl now so hunting with dad isn't her top priorty anymore but she is looking forward to deer season though.
Here's her first deer from a couple of years ago. Wish I'd have cleaned it up better but I was so excited I forgot.

This isn't private but you would have no problem getting a doe... Out in the Chattaroy area you have several alfalfa fields that are great doe producers, a few small bucks. You want to look for the fields along Perry, and the field on the corner of Perry and Owens Rd. These are public fields to hunt, and the woods around them and really close to town. They are clearly marked. There are deer in them every day... I have grown up out there, if you have any questions ask. The buck that you see me with in the picture was shot about a mile from the fields and had alfalfa in its stomach, you do the math...

Hey Gutpile, great pics! What rifle is that she is carrying? I too am really excited to take my kids out this year. I intend to hunt my son for his first deer this year. My daughter next year. They are both excited.
If anyone knows of good state land North of the spokane area, please PM me and I would be very thankful. ( I would really like some private land to hunt my son on for whitey/doe if you are aware of any too!)

Thanks teach and iceman.
Teach, I know the area well but never knew there was feel free to hunt land right there. I'm working north today so I'll swing by.

Try posting on craigslist in spokane you're bound to get something if you keep at it.

If you have any more questions about the northside, I can honestly say I really know it well and would be glad to help a young kid out, I also have two girls, they are 1, and 2.5 years old, little to young to hunt the oldest likes fishing and camping.

I went by and looked at it today. Looks like you can indeed hunt there but it's weird. there's houses all around it makes me uncomfortable. Is it state land or what? The field on the corner has a house a few hundred yards in at the tree line. I'm not sure I'd waant to live there. Anyways thanks again, looks interesting

Its state land, the fields are worked by Randy Cummers, if you go down Perry about a half mile from the corner field you will see a gate at the bottom of the road on the right, that is a great spot to park and walk in, there is several hundres acres back in there and no houses. Yes it is close to Spokane so you do have to deal with people.
