Is the foxpro wildfire rain proof? If not what can I do do make it rain proof? I'm on the wet side so it not getting rained on kinda isn't an option unless it starts snowing sometime soon.
-
Nobody has any idea huh?
-
can you go online to find out? i would think that it would be
-
Yup, I'm dumb. IDK why I didn't see it before. :bash: They are splash proof meaning if its sprinkling you're ok, in a real rain they say throw it in a ziplock baggy and it shouldn't affect sound quality.
-
My FX3 doesn't quite fit in a ziplock and be able to be closed but tried it this year in a pretty good rain and worked out fine.

I have the spitfire, which looks to be the same housing as the wildfire. I wouldn't bet a nickel that my spitfire is waterproof in any way, shape, or form. Like Gotshot said, throw it in a ziplock and you'll be much happier...same goes for the controller. :twocents:

Yep, Gonna zip-lock it when I get home today so I don't have to worry about it. I'm not worried about the remote. Mine is pretty stout and theres a packing where the two halves come together. Not to mention that it will spend most of its field time in my pocket or under whatever I'm under.

Check out the "Yoters Den"web site. They make a deployment bag for Fox Pro callers that might provide some added protection. I haven't tried one of their bags, but I have been thinking about it.
-
Seen em, just don't wanna pay 60 bucks plus shipping for a deployment bag. If you're willing to part with the cash tho those things look sweet!

I hang my spitfire under thick treebranches or place under rocks in heavy rain. it still works like a champ
