Are you sure it shed or did it get knocked off during the rut? It is quite early for shedding.

Seen many bucks over the years in 127 shed in late November ...I know of 3 harvested bucks that the antlers fell off in November.  I looked. Real close at him at 20 yards with binos..bloody round pedicle just as it looks when they shed

I was going to go shed antler hunting over the thanksgiving weekend and see if I can't find any I missed last spring since my seasons are over already.  Instead I ended up going with my brother archery elk hunting who walking 10 yards in front of me Sunday picked up a nice 5 pt bull shed that was dropped last spring.  It was like a slap in the face!

Something must be wrong with him.   Sick or something.  I know that can cause them to shed or not shed for that matter.   I know of shedding early, but they are in the middle of their first rut cycle, not even the latter one yet.   That just seems wrong.

I have seen it before also. Both with muleys and whitetails.  I always figured a buck that drops that early is probably " a little light in the loafers". Probally not interested in the girls anyway.

Here are a couple pics from last Dec. 9th & 10th. I fed six bucks and all but the spikes shed by Dec. 18th. Rule #1 during late archery up here is Never drag your buck out by the antlers!!

By the way, here is the same buck this year. Didn't have anyone is this stand that day or he would have been heading to the taxidermist.
