Hello all,
I have been living down here in SW for a couple of years now. I'm going to try to get into waterfowl hunting this year. Seems like a ton of fun. I have a few generic questions.
I have 30 some decoys.... Used but they look ok.
I'm kind of lost on where I can hunt. I know of Vancouver lake area and Ridge field refuge.
Can I go to some pods/lakes and start hunting? Outside of city limits?
Can hunt on Columbia river?
You know places like that.
I was going to grab my gun and decoys and drive around tomorrow...

Check the wa fish and game website they should have a list of public hunting land. I do not know that area sorry, good luck!

Thanks looking at it now...
Stupid question, but have to ask and be sure of myself... Can we hunt on wildlife areas? I know, i have to ask to be sure....

The regs will have it posted. If it's Ridgefield, only in the designated hunting section on the designated dates. If it's wildlife area look for the green signs. If it is a red sign it is a safety zone.
Go through the WDFW hunt locations like what was posted on duck chat for you.

Thanks. I have a couple of spots where I found close by. Guess my main concern was it that it's close to homes and free way. Might be a shot gun area only.
Two forks and Jenny creek. I checked out the Vancouver lake today, didn't see much. Looks like a walk in area.
Thanks.

Any city limits will get you cuffed and stuffed. :bdid:
Unless you have permission from the land owner to hunt private property. You can still be sited for trespass even without signs :bdid:
If you need to ask yourself, Should I do it. The answer should be NO.
Just ask people in person, Not by phone.
Don't show up at the farmers door in slacks and dress shoes :bdid:
A lot of property is posted because they want to know who is on it. All they can say is no. Then move on to the next spot.
WINDSHIELD TIME WILL YIELD HUNTING SPOTS!
