-
did not find him "today" that is! but i did sit in my blind for the last hour of the day, hoping for something good! and this guy came in the lil 2 pt that started a fight with my fatally wounded buck! not sure which one got it worse "yet"!

Maybe I am following your posts wrong, :dunno: But why were you hunting again when you already (in your words) fatally wounded a buck......shouldnt you be spending your time looking for the one you already shot instead of trying to shoot another??? :dunno:
-
for the same reason the other bowhunter i met today who didnt find his buck after 10 hours of searching! i was hoping since i dint find him he may come in fo an easy meal! long shot but but his little rival who my dad nor i have seen very far from if not right with each other in every sighting! came in as expected on time almost to the minute! but no dice i will look again tomorrow!
-
What kind of shot did you have/take? Did you see where the arrow hit?
-
7 yds right behind the left shoulder! in the living quarters! arrow was stickin out 6-8 inches i shoot 28 inch arrows that weigh 389 from 62# draw weight!

:chuckle: off topics member is an option. some people don't like to see political threads and what not,.. so you get to choose if you want to see the "off topic" threads. :chuckle:

Sounds like it should be a dead deer to me. Are you going back out to look for it?
-
just released from my duties to go search more wish me luck!
-
Was this in GMU 127? BULLBUSTER just posted that a buck was found there.

If that was meant towards me, just look at the picture under my name! I Hunt just as much as the next person on here.... wasnt trying to pry, I would just expect that if someone shoots an animal and they know its dead somewhere (your reference to a "fatal wound") I would hope they would spend more than half a day looking for it before trying to kill another one!.... :bdid: I obviously misunderstood your comment about sitting in your blind "hoping for something good" the day after you shot him! My apologies! :sry: If your shot was as good as you say, he's definately dead somewhere, I hope you find him......."Off Topics Member" simply means I have access to the political or otherwise "non hunting" forum If i choose.... Last I checked being an avid hunter did not restrict me from being able to have an opinion on "non-hunting" issues.... or should I say, having an opinion on non-hunting issues did not eliminate me from being able to comment on hunting issues!! Maybe that has changed... :dunno: ......someone should tell the owner of this website who is also an "Off Topics Member" :bash:

So what did you do? Hopefully you notched your tag and salvaged what you could.

Not likely. :'(
-
If the critters did't get to it other than the birds eating the eyes, the photos with snow on the ground look like it should be cold enough. Much of the meet is likely still good. Otherwise notch the tag and take the trophy.

Scared the birds away? Birds don't get scared away and stay gone like an elk or a deer... They fly up in a tree or circle till whatever "scared them" leaves.
You should be able to find this deer. First, it probably isn't that far away. Second, three guys told you where it was. Third, if you can see enough to drive/walk to your hunting spot without your contacts, you should be able to find the deer.
Keep looking. Get some friends to help and go find the deer that you killed. If it was me I would have had one of the guys that found it, bring me to where it was right then.

ya i searched all day today in 20 mile an hour winds dint see any birds on the ground couldnt hear em either unless they flew right overhead! but i combed the hillside i believe he was talkin about! i would have volunteered to take him to his buck! but i did not ask him because he assured me i would find it but i have not yet! and im hoping that the birds will lead me to him tomorrow! im beat! oh ya only one guy saw it he was with 2 other guys! i sure wish i woulda asked him to take me but he sure dint seem like he wanted to! psssshhhhhhh im the only hunter outta my main group of friends and all my family members are out hunting somewhere else! i would ask just your average joe but its a few thousand feet in elevation gain in a short time and i dont wanna pack out a human! but thanks for the tips and encouragement i will look again tomorrow im hopeful for atleast gettin my trophy!

Dude these type posts pi$$ me off :sry: There is no way in heII you hit this deer where you say ....When i hear someone tell me they hit a deer threw the boiler room and it got away I CALL BS !!! Now if you hit the deer an did not give it time to die then maybe yeah you may have !!i have killed alot of sheet with a bow and knock on wood I lost two animals in 30 + yrs of hunting and both were hit high about 3 " below the spine where there is nothen but an air pocket :bash: :bash: An animal hit fatally with a sharp broadhead goes no where if you give it at least 30 min. to die :sry: Lately I have watched them die right before my eyes :yeah:MUST BE THAT WASP :yeah: :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Well Beau6, now that you found your buck, could you tell for sure where the arrow hit?
