I'm not sure, I see some howlers have cow horns and some have a metal looking mega phones, I assume either is to make them louder. What is your opinion, is that beneficial?

Buffalo or a thicker cow horn makes good howl's. The scerry megaphone howler some time sounds plastic light. Diaphragms are very realistic and can be louder with a cowgirl megaphone. Rick
