I dropped my elk off October 22nd and still have not received my meat! The told me 2 weeks and after a month I called to check on it. After 20 mins on hold and talking I people trying to figure out the status, a old guy told me they would call when it's done and hung up?! I understand try might be busy but this seems rediculous. My buddy dropped of a deer a week later and finally got it back last weekend. Has anyone else ever had problems with this place? I heard good things so I took it to Tim, but if this is normal I probably won't be goin back. I have never waited this long for my meat to come back.

Sounds to me they lost your ticket and your meat got mixed in with others and is gone. Just my opinion...
-
sounds like u been had it shouldnt take that long doesnt sound right i would be going done there to talk to them face to face

Take you copy of the receipt into Tims, and tell them that they had better get your meat NOW, or had better *censored* you and elk!! If they give you any crap in the there, get on your cell phone and call the cop, for theift of game meat!!! No way on gods green earth should it take longer than 2 weeks to get you meat done..

Even if they did still have it, it is probably bad by now if it's still hanging :yike: That or they might have just gave it away to someone else. Best case is they lost your ticket and the meat is still in one of the freezers. It does not look very good, 5 week and no meat :yike:

IMO, your elk is gone. Do what Hunterman says. If they give you your elk, take it home and finish it yourself. If they can't get it, for whatever reason, make them pay you retail value for the meat. Here's retail value:

where is this tims meat at
-
Coeur d'Alene ID. Expensive, overpriced, and bad service has been my experience. And that was with the owner.
-
Jeeze I hope they have it, only reason I went there is that it was 20 cents a pound cheaper than my other butcher and it was on the way home from my hunting area. I'm going in tomorrow to figure out what's going on. It better be in the freezer! I thought maybe it was the pep sticks I ordered, but my butcher usually gives me the cut and wrap when it's done and I come back later after the pep sticks are done.

if you get meat back and need help to just get it cut up i do meat cutting for a living and u need a hand i live in the spokane valley
-
What's the follow up?
-
I called Monday and lo and behold it was ready. I reviews the invoice and it was cut and wrapped in time, but they said the pep sticks held it up. I got plenty of meat back but the time it took left me in happy. Oh well at least it's in the freezer now. I'll go back to dunhams next time, it might be a little more expensive but they have always done good work for me and it's quick.

Glad it all worked out for ya

The butcher I use always says pep sticks will take longer but you can pick up all you cut and wrapped meat within the first two weeks.
-
If it ends up tasting like beef or bear you know something is fishy
-
Sounds like it all ended well. Glad to hear.
