Well, its finally done and thought Id post up some pics for you all to see. I know there were quite a few that wanted to see the finished product. I have finally gotten through most of the raw stuff that has came in and found a couple days to get this thing done. This was an extremely fun project and can not wait to do another whether its deer elk moose or caribou pedestals and habitat. ANyway, enjoy the pictures.

Yeah, I didnt either but did find where he said on Taxidermy.net that he was exclusively scculpting for HQ and his line of forms will be available in the 2012 catalogue at the end of november .... I think they are behind on the catalogue :chuckle:

That is such a cool mount Charlie. You need to put a reference catalogue together and sell them on your website. I'd buy one :)
-
I really like that ped mount, what form was used if you don't mind if I ask?
-
Man ,that is so beautiful ......I would mistake it for real live animal
-
dude great work , have you ever done one with full front legs ? I'd concider one for suure.
-
That is an awesome mount! Would love to get an elk worthy of mounting like that. I guess my question would be how do you get something that big and pretty home? :dunno:
-
I'm speechless with my jaw dragging on the floor! Spectacular work.
-
Looks very good!
-
340 bulls are the superior of the big bulls in my opinion... :chuckle:
-
I agree
-
Hey Charlie, a few questions if your don't mind. How tall is it? how much does it weigh roughly? To do a wrap around like you did, how far back do want the cape cut on an elk for this kind of mount? I'm very impressed with your work. Good job.
-
unfreakingreal...thats what i'm going to do with my next elk..............................
-
Charles, that's just awesome work. Very nice.
I see your avatar is a cougar mount. Is that the one that Joe shot?
-
I missed this before, that bull looks familar, have I seen it before?
-
Thanks guys.
It was posted back in 2011 but someone brought it back up.
Pianoman, that was bearhunters cougar he killed with his bow .
No Bark, It is approximately 8 1/2 feet tall . Nice thing is it is a custom peice so I can make it as high as need be or as low as it needs to be to fit . Weight , The base with habotat is probably 75 pounds, the mount andother 75 or so . It could be more thats just a guess. The cape would need to be cut about the front of the hind quarters to have enough to wrap like that . I can always trim extra I dont need.
180 grain, the elk slides off. I use 1 inch square tube . The top of the base comes off also .
