ya not sure what im gonna do with it.. what the picture doesnt show is that although it is a giant cat, it is not that pretty... the whole cat is just a blah orange color... no patterns or cool colors... so i have thought about selling it, just rug tanning it, or doing a pedestal shoulder mount because his head is huge and actually pretty cool lookin... i have shot them before but this one is the biggest! and since i shot it on friday night and i couldnt find a scale right away, i had to get in in a freezer, so i will weigh it when i go to get it tagged maybe next week.
-
Great job mate, Any details of the hunt to share? Storyline?
-
shot him spotlighting on some private property... 200 yards on the move,, he was headed for cover.. put it right in his shoulder and dropped him!
-
Thats a damn nice short-tail for sure, is it a westside cat or eastside? The westside tend to be more Garfield looking, while the east has some pretty more greyish hides, I like those orange cats though. Id mount it for sure, my wife shot a 42 lb cat and it made a awesome full body mount.

love the roberts

Very nice cat. I'd hang on to it rather than sell it. Looks to have a good belly, but the orange will bring the price down considerably. You can always have it tubed with the paws and ears turned, then tanned. Down the road, you can always have it mounted.
Id mount it for sure, my wife shot a 42 lb cat and it made a awesome full body mount.
Got any pics? I'd love to see a 42.
-
That is awesome. Nice work!
-
If you have it mounted, look at the other bobcat mounts they have done. I've only seen a couple taxidermists that can make them look what they should look like. Plus, if your paying big $$, it should be perfect.

HAHAHA! FUNNY! :chuckle:
That is so cool! Man I want a cat so bad. Hopefully, one of these days...... Dont get me wrong, I happy I get the coyotes once in awhile but I really want a bobcat. Maybe if I start hunting hogs or something I will finally see a cat? I've only seen one once a few years ago and it was in a neighborhood in Bothell. :bash:
-
That is a toad!
-
finally weighed it... 31.4 pounds!!!!
and after consideration i think i am only gonna do a pedestal mount on it... i dont have room to mount every cat i shoot lifesize lol... i took it to a fur buyer and he pointed out a rub spot on the belly so it was only worth 50 bucks.. o well got a great picture out of it anyways
-
Nice cat , I was off on my guess though by 1.4 pounds :bash:
