Last weekend a buddy and I were driving up Grass Mountain up in the snow and came across some tracks, my buddy kept saying those look like wolf tracks... I got out and looked and one set was big, big enough to be a medium size wolf, and there were two other sets along with it that looked to be more like the size of an average dog. That area is a long ways from anywhere that dogs should be, but I also don't really think it was wolf tracks. There were no boot tracks so it wasn't someone walking their dog, which this was a high ridge road so it would be kind of an odd area to walk your dog anyways. I'm not sure what else it could have been from? It wasn't too far from an area we saw two rigs in september that appeared to be running dogs, but the one set would have had to be a big hound. Not sure what else it could have been but I honestly don't think it was wolf. Thoughts?

what side of grass mountain were you? I used to see big dog tracks on the netlton years ago, could be wild dogs that came from the cumberland/ lake walker area...

This wasn't too far from netlton, so that could very well be. I did hear of two rottweilers that appeared to be chasing deer up behind the mill, I told my buddy who saw them that he should have shot them but he said he was worried they were some horseback riders dogs that got away from them... if I saw dogs in that part of the woods especially chasing deer or elk they would have been given a lethal injection.

Saw something kind of like this in the winston last weekend. We were in the 553 gate on the mossyrock side up in the snow. there was about 6 sets of tracks going downa road and they were bigger than an average hound, or looked to be. We couldnt find boot marks but I have a hard time believing they are wolves.

Ya i dont think they are wolf either. Knowing the hunters who hunt that and hunt around that if there were wolves there would be a dead wolf :twocents:

Its called the 3 S's. Shoot, shovel and shutup. A wolf carcass with a bullet hole in it will NOT help us out in the fight to control wolves. I'm friends with guys in Idaho and Wyoming that have all carried fold up shovels on their saddles for years.
