-
what tag archery or riffle ? seems to me like alot of those bulls get broke up. I know what tag im putting in for and its mid state . good luck on your draw.
-
I'm hoping 13 points will get me a Peaches Ridge tag

I'm going to try for the multi-season elk tag and if I get it, I'll apply for an eastside quality bull archery hunt. With five points I may have a fair chance. I've only got one point for the multi-season tag so I probably won't get it. In that case, I've decided I'm going to buy a westside archery tag, and probably will only apply for points in all three elk categories.
-
I think Ill hunt westside poachers next year. If I bag one I may get ten points so I might actually draw a quality elk tag before I die :chuckle:
-
I'll take the teanaway bull tag again next year and be satisfied :chuckle: :chuckle:

again?? Where's the pic and story from this year??? I will also be putting in for multi elk and if I don't get drawn it will be west side archery or muzzy for me. 17 points for elk but only 1 for multi so it will probably be wet side for me.
-
putting in for multi yet again. Next would be wetside modern, with wetside SP applications.

here is a pic there is a topic in elk hunting that says "My best bull"
-
holy crap, nice bull man. I've got to go and check out your story now, wow. I must have missed that one. nice job.
-
you got a good chance with a point for multi season bobcat . I would give a nut for a bull tag in a certin unit next year . 400out dont worry your blue's are safe :)
-
:yeah:
I hear ya coach. I have 7 points so probably not gonna happen. Although topping your bull from 2010 is gonna be tough. Not sure where else I will put in for.
-
We will have to wait untill they make there decision on the east west crap before i could tell you what my plans are. But for S&G's i think i will apply for an east side permit. Probably ML. I have 14 points for elk so there is always a chance.
-
I don't have time or money to scout anywhere else other than the 3 spots I hit (And one of those was given to me on a silver platter) so I will once again not be wasting money on special tags.
-
My plans for 2012 are just to hunt like a mad fool and get an elk. No special apps for the last two years due to no money but hopefully that will change in 2012.
-
hey clock not my bull from this year my buddys , but we were stride for stride all season most fun a guy could have ! i'm better than a giude i'm free except for an ocasional dinner .

No I meant from 2009 when you drew the archery tag in GMU 3**. That thing was a stud. It would be tough for you to top that one. So if I draw the ******** tag you'll guide me :chuckle:
-
Going back to GETSUM ELKCAMP. To do what we do best "kill elk".
I will draw the peaches ridge tag.......
RTSPRING
-
Points only. Don't see that I'll be anywhere near Wa state fall/winter 2012.
-
Chasing elk in my usual spot.
-
Hopefully using my 15 points in either the Quality or Bull Category to draw an eastside tag :dunno:

Will this be your first time in the blues? I'd go for the watershed or a wilderness tag! Have fun ; )
-
I might just have to throw my 40 points at a Nutsack archery bull tag. ;) :IBCOOL:

:chuckle: I doubt it but thanks :chuckle: It won't be big bulls for me I'm sure so It's spike season again  Now if someone can get me rosscrazyelk plate number so i don't follow the wrong rig I would much appriciate it :brew: :chuckle:

Back to '0' on quality elk, and waiting to see what changes may be coming our way. Alaska caribou on the list for this year, so not expecting to be in the washington woods quite as much as usual. :chuckle:
-
Speaking of AK caribou. I was talking to my cousin in Copper Center the other day and he is begging me to come up for a caribou, moose, bear and dall sheep hunt. I won't be able to do it in 2012 but 2013 I've gotta make it happen. No guide fees, free lodging, hunting right from camp, use of boats and bush planes as well as pack horses is an awesome incentive! I think I just peed a little just thinking about it! :IBCOOL:

Let me know if you need company! :IBCOOL:
-
Will do! Maybe you and Bone could join me on an Alaskan killing spree! :chuckle: Plus, he lives on the Copper river and fishes off of his deck.
-
Hell, I will pay everyone's airfare to go on that trip.
-
my kid still has a Jan. coweeman tag ... I seriously need to go :yeah:
-
i still plan on hunting for a cow in Jan.but thats not really the elk hunt for 2012 im talking about. dang polar bear , how many people did you catch poaching? 40 points? you have got to be about 24 points more than the max
-
Oh, a few! :chuckle:
-
I wouldn't put in for the Nook tag because that Bucklucky guy shot the last one. :sry:
-
I know better than that. My buddy's wife had the tag and couldn't get close enough to a couple of bulls that are bigger than Charlie's. They are still up there if the tribe hasn't gotten them.
-
Well hopefully they were they able to tag out on a smaller Bull?
-

I seriously can not believe they did not get one with a rifle .. I never heard back from them ...do you know if the other lady got one ...I think she was from up north !! It will be a couple years now before we see some monsters in the sack !!
-
2012 will consist of me spending most of m money in gas and food, a few frustrating opportunities that are blown by other hunters interupting my stock, and probably breaking and/or losing a few of my expensive pieces of archery equipment, getting harassed by the wardens, a flat tire, dehydration, lack of hygiene, and sitting on this forum to see who had luck, because im sure if i stay in this state it wont happen to me.

colockumelk, stay out of the blues! no elk here! :chuckle:
-
I'll just buy my ghost point, and hunt either wetside muzzy or archery. I won't know what until the guy at bi-mart asks me and my answer will be whatever pops out first. That's if o dont draw multiseason, then its some eastside muzzy and archery hunts in local areas.
-
I'll be shooting my first bull after i draw a Peaches ridge .

:chuckle: In 2009 or 2010 he shot an absolute stud in one of the 300 Series GMUs. He should post the pick again. It was nice. Which if he doesn't guide me for free I will tell everyone where it was . :chuckle:
-
got three archery deer hunts for next fall, so probably an elk point for me, but my wife will draw an archery bull tag this year.
-

No idea if the other lady got one or not. They kind of ran out of steam after a few wweekend trips. Long story.
-
If I don't get drawn in Arizona or New Mexico for elk (low odds), then my next hope is in Utah near where the Spider Bull was killed. If that doesn't work out, I suppose I'll come back to WA as a non resident and just buy a tag
-
After 3 years of striking out on the multi-season elk tag, 2012 is going to be my year. If hell does actually freeze over and I get drawn I plan on spending a considerable amount of time on the other side of the mountains whether I get drawn for a "quality" or "any bull" tag or not. Been stuck hunting W Wa for 10-12 years and need to get back to my roots!
Really looking forward to dialing in the new muzzy Santa brought me, come on multi-season tag. Not ready to give up the bow just yet!
-
I plan to hunt the coastal foothills for elk next year. If I can manage to draw a quality tag for St. Helens then I will go there.
-
wa muzzy tag..will apply for Blues muzzy tag and hunt ID elk..Wy point
-
Thow some cash into the ghost points pot for quality elk/multi season then spend my time chaseing cows where i go. School got me not able to take time off to get a full hunt in except for the weekends. But atleast it is a 1yr program.
-
ill be archery hunting for the first time. im very excited! have yet to take an elk so i should start off doing it right!
-
The last few years I have put only in for points out of state so this year I have money. So I will put in for tags for Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and looking at Montana.
So I am hoping to get a good tag.
I do not have many points in Washington so who knows.
-
wa muzzy tag..will apply for Blues muzzy tag and hunt ID elk..Wy point
[/quote
I was planning the same. I think you and I apply for the same blues muzzy tag
-
Forgot. To add my plans. Hopefully will draw an archery tag somewhere on the eastside in a GMU that doesn't have a general season in it and will kill a bull above 300". . If not I will draw a cow tag in tjhe Colockum and will kill a cow opening day. If not I will kill another true spike in the Colockum. If none of this happens its because I'm still in CW doing training. :bash:
-
applying to MT. Have not hunted elk in WA the last 2 years.Their is no muzzle season where I like to hunt so I will take my money out of state.
-
I've got 3 or 4 points for elk..... Apply for my usual tags and not hold my breath.... I have better chance with deer tags!!!
-
Burned all of my quality points last year, and my antlerless points. I'm hunting archery outta state so I'm thinking about just putting in for rifle tags on a "bull" hunt...
-
I will be hopefully helping my old man fill a bull tag on the eastside this year then I'll go kill my own.
