We now have a WSTA members only page on Hunting Washington Forums.
I envision this as a place for WSTA members to kick around ideas, post budget items and discuss strategy. In short a virtual Board of Directors meeting. Any member can get on and have their say.
You have to register on Hunting Washington.com and then go into your profile and request access to the WSTA members only page.
Profile/Modify Profile/Group Membership, WSTA Membership is at the bottom, right hand side is "Request Membership. Remember I need your name for membership verification. Put it in Reasons and I can see it.
If you are not a member of WSTA you will have to join to see the page. For now the easiest way is to go to http://watrappers.com/ and download the Membership Application.
I have one request. I would like posters in the WSTA members only page to sign their posts. If you look at the bottom of my posts you will see my signature. If you don't want this to be seen in all your posts on Hunting Washington that is fine but try to remember to sign your posts in the members only page as you write them.
Also, please have some patience with me. At this time I am the only moderator and it is new to me. There may be a learning curve for me that will slow things up at first.

You're approved again. That means you have twice as much approval as anyone else. :IBCOOL: You will be able to see the board under agencys, events, organizations section.

I am disapointed with the number but it may pick up. I put a plug for it in my column in The Trapper & Predator Caller Magazine. That goes to most members.
Also there may be more people sign up after trapping season. I'm going to make a point of getting people to sign up that are on the Board of Directors at our Spring Business meeting too.
I hope this is not screwing the forums up haveing so few people on the page. If it's a problem let me know.

I doubt there are that many trappers on here or who are really interested.I think the laws and costs to trap might be a kick in the nuts to many. :dunno:
Thing is though our membership has been on the increase for several years. Probably close to 10% a year for the last three years.

Our Secretary entered it in the data base 3/26
Our Treasuer processed it 4/4
New members. receive a welcoming letter, a
list of the Board of Directors with contact info, a decal, a receipt, and a membership card.
Renewals receive a receipt & a membership card.
I should think you will receive it shortly.

Bruce, I received the raffle tickets today with the letter, but it says the drawing is in august, I thought the rende was in june(I wont be able to make it, but thought I might send in a few tickets)
That was a mistake. Like we need it at this date. Rendezvous is in June. Please ignore the date on the raffle tickets.

Top of your page you will see Home Help Search and Profile. Click on Profile. Takes you to a new page. Look on the left side and go down to Modify Profile, Under that you will see Group Membership. Became a life time memeber yesterday. Stopped at Ralph Dobson's place and anty'd up. Been meaning to do it for quite a while. I will try to make it to the rendezvous this year with the family. Sounds like a great time.

Be sure to introduce yourself to me. I have a hard time keeping these internet handles straight. I'm sur you will have a good time. I haven't missed one since going to my first one. I never get enough sleep at the Rendezvous though. Too much to do and too many people to BS. :chuckle:

You should get a welcome letterand membership card. Ralph has been backed up so it might be late but a month sounds like there is something gone wrong.

For a while because of a glich in the site I have not been able to confirm the membership of anyone on the board. I do not feel comfortable posting anything there because of that.
I will post general information about WSTA on the open forum but I think the members only forum is dead.

There is a learning curve to any job and Doug is in the middle of it. I would ask for your patience. We used to try and get a new members packet off within two weeks of a new sign up. I'm hoping we can get back to that.
For now all I can say is sorry. If things don't straighten out in a month we will look to other solutions.

That forum is only open to WSTA members. You must be a current paid up member to join. I have to have your name to check against our membership roles to approve you.
If you are not a member of WSTA you can join at watrappers.com The forum was envisioned as a place to discuss non-public aspects of WSTA such as our budget, elections and planning, etc. among other things. We also post our quarterly magazine there which is available only to members.
Please if you want to join I need your full name and you must me a paid up member of WSTA.

We do not send out membership cards.
