Title: Blacktail Trail cam attractant
Post by: steeleywhopper on July 17, 2008, 01:03:58 AM: Just wondering what you guys put down for attracting Blacktails to your trail-cam areas? Do you use products such as deer cocane or Kmere deer?

So do my wifes flowers :chuckle: Try to look for a ten pound sack of cheapo apples and put them around your camera. Smash a couple to get the scent stirring around. Apples are generally pretty cheap too.

I'm going to rake out some rock salt around the camera and toss out some apples. I have a problem always catching the back half of deer in my pictures :bash:

Deer cocaine only works for whitetail in my experience. It doesn't seem to attract blacktail.

If you wanna attract hogs put out some sour mash/corn mash. Sour oats work pretty good to. Cost you bout $8 for 50lbs+. Wild hogs will also clean up a gut pile in short order to. Than again out here something else is probably gonna get that befor a hog.
